Sika Marine ISP-919 has long term durability and UV resistance, is salt water resistant, neutral cure and almost odourless. Cure Mechanism Sika Marine ISP-919 cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture. At low temperatures the water content of the air is lower and the curing reaction proceeds more slowly. Chemical Resistance Sika Marine ISP-919 is resistant to UV radiation, fresh water, seawater and proprietary aqueous cleaning agents; temporarily resistant to fuels, mineral oils, vegetable and animal fats and oils; not resistant to organic acids, concentrated mineral acids, caustic solutions and solvents. The above information is offered for general guidance only. Advice on specific applications will be given on request, please contact the Technical Service Department. Method of Application Surface preparation Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from all traces of oil, grease, dust, rust and other contaminants. Do not apply to wet or damp surfaces. Non-porous substrates should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a clean white lint free cotton cloth. Wipe dry immediately with another such cloth before cleaner evaporates from surface. Strictly follow cleaner manufacturer’s instructions for use and warning statements.
Tooling and finishing Tooling and finishing must be carried out within the tack-free time of the sealant. Do not tool with water, soap, or oil. Finishing agents or lubricants must be tested for suitability and compatibility. Removal Uncured Sika Marine ISP-919 may be removed from tools and equipment with suitable solvents such as isopropyl alcohol or acetone. Strictly follow solvent manufacturer’s instructions for use and warning statements. Once cured, the material can only be removed mechanically. Hands and exposed skin should be washed immediately after use. Do not use solvents. Overpainting Sika Marine ISP-919 cannot be overpainted. Limitations Sika Marine ISP-919 cannot be overpainted. Adhesion testing may be required for some materials. Not suitable for use with oil, bitumen, petrol, solvents etc. Will not bond to polyethylene or polypropylene. Not suitable for permanent water immersion.

Application Sika Marine ISP-919 can be dispensed at temperatures down to -32°C; however, cure will be extremely slow or may not occur at all. Also, the possibility of detrimental frost formation on the parts and bead is likely. Recommended application temperature range for product, air and substrate is 5°C - 40°C.
