Course 3.02 Student Records This course introduces various ways to access student data. Users see student records through both the Silk Scheduler program to view information related specifically to scheduling; and through the Silk main program where you can view additional details about students. Students that meet various academic, test score, program, and grade level conditions can automatically receive a set of course registrations at the beginning of the registration cycle. These Automatic Course Request Rules (ACRs) are established in Silk Scheduler, but are useful throughout the academic year when scheduling walkin students. A good first step that helps isolate students into scheduling categories is to create Silk groups comprised of students with common attributes that would point to specific course requirements. Especially valuable is the new Counselor Assignment feature, which functions reciprocally with the Counselor field on the Student | Basic Info tab. A school might also consider using Silk’s Teaching Team function to cluster specific teachers with specific students, even if you don’t use of Silk’s team scheduling features in the strictest definition.
