Hold down the trigger button of the reader. 2. The two blue beams sent out by the reader are used for targeting. The blue beams must be directed to the center of the barcode. The ideal read distance between the device and barcode is approximately 10 cm. As soon as the reader is at the optimum read distance, the barcode is read. To confirm that the barcode was read correctly, the reader generates a beep, vibrates and a green LED flashes. Note Changing factory settings To change factory settings, scan in the appropriate code: refer to the section SIMATIC MV320 code configurations (Page 55). SIMATIC MV320 / SIMATIC MV325 Operating Instructions, 03/2014, C79000-G8976-C352-02 31 Operation 6.1 Working with the SIMATIC MV320 reader With metal stand/with stand detection The hardware product version 2 of the reader has stand detection. By default, the reader automatically changes to the motion detection mode when it is placed on the stand. In this mode, the reader is activated by holding a barcode in the scanner field. To confirm that the barcode was read correctly, the reader generates a beep, vibrates and a green LED flashes. When the reader is taken off the stand, it changes to manual mode: ● To read a barcode, you need to press the trigger button (see "Without metal stand"). With metal stand / without stand detection The hardware product version 1 of the reader does not have automatic stand detection with which barcode reading on detection of motion is activated when the reader is placed on the stand. ● To configure this hardware product version for scanning on detection of motion, scan in the appropriate code: refer to the section SIMATIC MV320 code configurations (Page 55). Below, you will find several useful tips on upkeep and maintenance. To ensure optimum performance of the reader, the window of the reader must be clean. The window is the colorless plastic part in the head of the reader. The reader works with CMOS technology in much the same way as a digital camera. A dirty window could have the result that the reader is no longer capable of reading barcodes. ● If the window is dirty, clean it with a soft, non-abrasive cloth or a cosmetic wipe (without lotion and not impregnated) and a little water. ● You can also use a mild cleansing agent: Then wipe the window with a damp cloth. Approved cleaning agents The following products have been approved for cleaning the SIMATIC MV320: ● Wipes soaked in alcohol ● Clorox® disinfecting wipes ● Clorox® bleach solution (10% bleach, 90% tap water) ● Medical DiAirKem ● Sani-Cloth® HB, Super Sani-Cloth® germicidal, Sani-Cloth® Plus germicidal disposable wipes ● Virex® II disinfectant cleaner SIMATIC MV320 / SIMATIC MV325 Operating Instructions, 03/2014, C79000-G8976-C352-02 45 Service and maintenance 8.1 Maintenance and upkeep SIMATIC MV320 / SIMATIC MV325 46 Operating Instructions, 03/2014, C79000-G8976-C352-02 9 Technical data SIMATIC MV320 6GF3320-0HT01 Memory capacity 128 MB flash ROM / 32 MB RAM Communication Interfaces RS-232, USB 2.0 (generic, keyboard, virtual COM port) Field selection High density field or wide field Dimensions and weight Dimensions, H x L x W in mm 140 x 70 x 50 Weight 0.110 kg Color Dark gray Permitted ambient conditions Degree of protection IP54 Operating temperature -20 ... +55 °C Storage temperature -30 ... +65 °C Humidity 5 ... 95%, no condensation Impact resistance Resistant to being dropped repeatedly on concrete from a height of 1.8 m Resistant to ambient light Sunlight: up to 96 890 lx Electrical data/power requirements Reader at 5 VDC (mA) • Typical < 450 mA • Idling < 80 mA • Sleep mode < 31 mA Decoding capability 1D codes Codabar, Code 11, Code 32, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Interleaved 2 of 5, GS1 DataBar (RSS), Hong Kong 2 of 5, Matrix 2 of 5, MSI Plessey, Pharmacode, Plessey, Straight 2 of 5, Telepen, Trioptic, UPC Stacked 1D codes GS1 Composite (CC-A/CC-B/CC-C), MicroPDF, PDF417 2D codes Aztec Code, Data Matrix, Micro QR Code, QR Code, Han Xin Postal codes Australian, Intelligent Mail, Japan, KIX Code, PLANET, POSTNET, UK Royal Mail SIMATIC MV320 / SIMATIC MV325 Operating Instructions, 03/2014, C79000-G8976-C352-02 47 Technical data 6GF3320-0HT01 Optical data Read field • High Density Field 30° x 20° (horizontal x vertical) • Wide field 50° x 33.5° (horizontal x vertical) Read distance Approx. 100 mm Sensor CMOS 1.2 megapixels (1280 x 960) gray shades Optical resolution • High Density Field 960 x 640 • Wide field 960 x 640 Roll angle ±60° (from front to rear) Angle of inclination ± 60° level parallel to symbol (between sides) Rotational tolerance ± 180° Print contrast resolution 25% (1D codes) or 35% (2D codes) absolute dark/light reflectance differential measured at 650 nm Target beam Single, blue target strip SIMATIC MV325 6GF3325-0HT01 Memory capacity 128 MB flash ROM / 32 MB RAM Bluetooth modem USB 2.0 (generic, keyboard, virtual COM port) Communications interfaces Operating modes Bluetooth (Class II) Field selection High Density Field or wide field Time stamp Interval logging Dimensions and weight Dimensions, H x L x W in mm • Reader 135 x 130 x 51 • Charging station 60 x 115 x 83 Weight • Reader 0.171 kg • Battery 0.48 kg • Charging station with integrated Bluetooth modem 0.153 kg SIMATIC MV320 / SIMATIC MV325 48 Operating Instructions, 03/2014, C79000-G8976-C352-02 Technical data 6GF3325-0HT01 Permitted ambient conditions Degree of protection IP65 Operating temperature -20 ... +55 °C Storage temperature -30 ... +65 °C Humidity 5 ... 95%, no condensation Impact resistance Resistant to being dropped repeatedly on concrete from a height of 1.8 m Resistant to ambient light Sunlight: up to 96 890 lx Electrical data/power requirements Reader at 4.2 VDC (mA) • Typical and peak 362 mA • Idling 80 mA • Sleep mode 20 mA Charging station with integrated Bluetooth modem at 5 VDC (mA) • Max.
