HP Photo Imaging Software Quick Reference HP Photo Imaging Software The HP Photo Imaging Software provides a central point for acquiring, viewing, printing, and sharing your images. On Microsoft® Windows® 98 and Windows 2000 systems this software starts automatically when you plug your camera into the computer. On Windows Me systems the Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard starts instead of this software.
Unloading the Camera
Sharing Images Via Email Use the HP Email Portal to attach images to an email so that you can send them to friends and relatives. 1. On the Photo Imaging Software window, click Email Portal. 2. Drag images into the Email Portal gallery or drop them onto the drop target. 3. Choose the image size. 4. Click Create Email. 5. Send the email message.
Use the HP Camera Unload Software to quickly unload images from your camera. 1. On the Photo Imaging Software window, click Unload Camera. 2. Select a folder for the images. 3. Click Start.
Sharing Images On the Web You can access the Web to upload and share images with friends and relatives. 1. On the Photo Imaging Software window, click Share Images. 2. Drag images into the Share To Web Software gallery. 3. Choose the site for posting the images.
Viewing Images Use ACDSee to view the images on your computer. 1. On the Photo Imaging Software window, click View Images. 2. In the left pane, select the folder to view. Images will appear as thumbnails in the right pane.
Printing Images Use the HP Photo Printing Software to adjust and print images. 1. On the Photo Imaging Software window, click Print Images. 2. Collect the images to print in the Photo Printing Software gallery. 3. Adjust images as desired. 4. Create pages in the Print Preview area and then print the pages. Note: These steps are described in more detail on the following pages.

Using the Photo Printing Software Bringing Images Into the Gallery
Click Open Files to search for and open image files into the gallery. Click Acquire Images to acquire images from your camera, scanner, or other TWAIN device.
Use the Rotate Clockwise and Rotate Counterclockwise buttons to rotate the image in the gallery.
Right click the image to see a pop-up menu that lets you rotate, copy, paste, save audio, and display the properties for the image.
Drag files from Windows Explorer, My Computer, or the desktop.
Drag images from any program that supports drag and drop, including the viewer that came with your PhotoSmart software.

Adjusting Images
Click the magnifying glass or double click the image to open the Image Adjustment window. Use the crop handles to select the part of the image to save.
Use the Auto Adjust button to automatically adjust exposure and color at the same time.
Using the Image Adjustment Tools Open tools for adjusting exposure, color, sharpness, scaling, and rotation. • Show only the tools you need, and hide the rest. • Tools remember where they were when you last closed them.
Use the eyedropper to select a point on the image that should be white. Overall image color will be adjusted to make the selected point white.
Use the Auto button to automatically adjust exposure or color.
Use Reset to undo all changes for a tool, or use Undo in the Edit menu for more precise control over what you undo.

Creating Standard Size Prints 1. Select images to print from the gallery. 2. Click Prints to open the Prints dialog box. 3. Select the print size (or create a new custom size).
4. Click OK to preview the results.
Creating “5 Minute Albums” 1. Select images to print from the gallery. 2. Click Album to open the Album Pages dialog box. 3. Select a layout you like.
4. Click OK to preview the results. 5. Double click a caption box to add a caption. 6. Drag and drop to rearrange images if you like. HP Photo Imaging Software Quick Reference
