Upgrades give Good 2 Go better lighting Whether stopping by for a gas fill up, snacks or a meal, Good 2 Go convenience store customers often comment on the competitive prices, quality products and friendly staff. Since being acquired in 2012 by Idaho Falls, Idaho-based fuel distributor Brad Hall & Associates, Good 2 Go also has been getting positive reviews for its clean, redesigned locations in Idaho and Wyoming. “We’ve seen a reduction “One of the things we wanted was the stores to have better and brighter lighting,” said Duane Dalby, controller at Brad Hall & Associates. Retrofit and new construction projects are eligible. Businesses can choose a Rocky Mountain Power wattsmart Business Vendor or an independent energy consultant for technical expertise. At five Good 2 Go locations in Idaho Falls, Rexburg and Rigby, old exterior lights were replaced with high-efficiency LED canopy lighting. The LED fixtures offer energy savings over typical metal halide lighting, uniform color, long operating life and are virtually maintenance free. The upgrades have been beneficial not only financially, but for customer service as well, Dalby reported. “We’ve seen a reduction in our power bills and customers have been very happy. They feel secure – they can see around them, there’s no question about being seen, everything is very visible,” he said. Savings The Good 2 Go convenience stores in Idaho received a total of $8,200 in Rocky Mountain Power wattsmart Business incentives to help pay for lighting improvements. The stores are realizing combined savings of more than 146,260 kilowatt-hours of electricity and $6,650 in energy costs annually. “There’s a little bit of a cash outlay at first, but the incentives come back and also you’ll see savings on down the road.
