Tile Bridge (for 4” speaker) Description A tile bridge is often required, for safety reasons, by local building codes, and for aesthetics to reduce the potential of unsightly ceiling tile sag. The LBS4-series is engineered to distribute the speaker assembly weight to the ceiling support system in a suspended 2' x 2' or 2' x 4' tile ceiling system. It is galvanized 20-gauge steel (23.75"L x 12.125"W) with a round center opening.
Model LBS4-DX
• Model LBS4-DX: is designed specifically to mount 4” (EIA 5”) speakers with torsion or screw mount grilles to backbox Models DX104T, DX104 and CP4 as noted. • Model LBS4-R: includes clips for mounting a 4” (EIA 5”) speaker with screw mount grille Model WB-4 and NO BACKBOX. As with all projects, speaker installation should be performed per local building codes and regulations, many of which require a backbox for speaker installation. Features • Formed construction is lightweight with rigid support. • Mounts 4" speakers with noted Lowell grille and backbox combinations. • Model LBS4-DX: mounts backbox Models DX104T, DX104-10T, DX104, and CP4. • Model LBS4-R: mounts speakers WITHOUT a backbox. A & E Specifications Tile bridge shall be Lowell Model ___________(LBS4-DX, LBS4-R). It shall be formed from 20-gauge galvanized steel and be engineered to support and distribute the weight of a 4" speaker assembly to the ceiling support system in a 2' x 2' or 2' x 4' suspended ceiling installation. It shall include provisions for seismic anchoring where required by code. Tile bridge shall mount 4" Lowell grille Model________ with attached 4" Lowell speaker Model _________.
Model LBS4-R
Tile bridge Model LBS4-DX shall additionally accept required Lowell backbox Model ______. Tile bridge Model LBS4-R does not accept a backbox.
NOTE: Lowell includes mounting bolts with speaker grilles and speaker/grille assemblies; they are not included with the tile bridge. If the speaker enclosure is to be mounted to a tile bridge, four 8-32 bolts will need to be supplied by the installer.
