Printer option – USB Net Server Encoding Chip Card over IP
Using USB chip encoders over an IP network The USB Net Server module aims at converting USB protocols and signaling into IP frames. This option should be used for dedicated ‘Point-to-Point’ applications that will manage the link between the computer and the printer. Note: Parallel access to the printer from several computer in the mean time cannot work properly. Therefore, the software architecture should be analyzed carefully. Such configurations are allowed depending of software/ CMS architecture:
Target Applications - Chip card issuance over an IP network - Printer network management from a centralized Card Management System
Point-to-Point: One single computer accessing one printer Central Printing Application: One centralized CMS (Card Management System) organizing the card issuance by operating a waiting queue. In that case, only the CMS located on a server is managing the printer Printer Sharing: One dedicated CMS (Card Management System) managing the printer access priority from several computers. This requires a custom development and the use of the USB-Net-Server SDK.

To be processed, this option requires a dedicated order including ‘on-demand’ encoding options configuration: For distribution sales, only Primacy is available. When it comes to custom projects, System Integrators have access to the entire printer range (Zenius, Primacy and Elypso). Important notice The USB Net Server option should not be used as an automatic networking or printer sharing system. Such architecture will not operate properly when several ‘printing & encoding‘ requests are sent in parallel to the printer from a standard card designer since the USB Net Server software cannot behave as a ‘switchboard’. © 2013 Evolis Card Printer.
