Laser Marking Vast flexibility and superior quality Laser marking offers huge advantages in direct industrial product marking. Ease of use, speed and flexibility can be found in a single product which can be applied to a wide range of materials and finishes. Your labelling solu ons are almost unlimited with the integrated so ware. Our laser marking systems are ideal for automated labels such as sequen al serial numbers, 2D codes (DataMatrix™) etc. Ostling lasers are equipped with two separate safety circuits and meet the requirements of Performance Level-e (PLe) according to EN-ISO 13849-1. A secure and direct integra on can be easily achieved. Strengths of the Ostling laser systems Unbeatably flexible, high quality Extremely long service life of the laser diode No cooling system necessary Compact and light construc on User-friendly so ware under Windows 2000/XP/7/8 LasOnAllXS OEM models and complete solu ons available Precisely adaptable to your needs due to our own special mechanical engineering department What types of marking are possible? Engraving: A groove is etched in the component with a laser beam. The material vaporises or melts in this process. The marking depth can be up to 50µm. Material abrasion: This is a special form of engraving. In the case of aluminium, an anodic coa ng, for example, can be removed in order to reveal the differently-coloured layer beneath it. Annealing colours: Here the heat of the laser beam and the atmospheric oxygen change the colour of the metal. There is no significant material abrasion. The laser beam penetrates up to 5µm into the metal. Colour changes: Marking by changing the colour can be performed with most plas cs and some lacquers. Special addi ves ensure a high contrast colour change where the laser beam makes contact. Foaming: Due to the heat of the laser beam, the plas c is thermally disintegrated at the laser beam’s point of impact. This results in gaseous decomposi on and causes the plas c to foam.
