Press release High definition security redefined: Anywhere. Everywhere Bosch extends its range of application specific HD cameras with extreme light sensitivity  Dinion HD 720p and FlexiDome HD 720p RD – HD-quality also in extreme low light conditions  Intelligent Digital Noise Reduction for crisp clear images  FlexiDome rugged form provides unique alternative for bulky outdoor housings Munich – With the development of its next generation Dinion HD 720p and FlexiDome HD 720p RD, Bosch Security Systems introduces two new HD cameras that are specifically designed for high performance in extreme low light conditions. An eye for detail Using the example of perimeter detection, security cameras need to produce clear images 24/7 – even at night time or under low-light conditions. This is now possible since both HD cameras offer a high sensitivity in color (0.03 lux) and monochrome mode (0.01 lux) – thus enabling them to work with only a minimum of available ambient light. This high light sensitivity combined with Intelligent Digital Noise Reduction (iDNR) ensures crisp, clear, detailed images in all lighting conditions. The Dinion HD 720p and FlexiDome HD 720 RD can also provide images of up to 60 frames per second. The cameras come in two versions – one without Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA) and one with IVA out of the box. IVA enabled models provide a broad range of video content analysis features, such as people counting, line crossing, entering field, flow detection and many more. Furthermore this model comes with Content Based Imaging Technology (CBIT). This technology takes the analysis data of the IVA module to dynamically tune Robert Bosch GmbH E-mail [email protected] Corporate Communications, Postfach 10 60 50 Phone +49 89 6290 1647 Brand Management, and Sustainability D-70049 Stuttgart Fax Senior Vice President: Uta-Micaela Dürig +49 89 6290 281647 www.bosch-press.com September 2012 PI 7868 ST Goe the image processing pipeline, boosting image performance to unprecedented levels. Use everywhere The unique FlexiDome RD design allows for a broad selection of lens options, normally only available in bulky outdoor housings. This – combined with the rugged dome cast-aluminum enclosure which can withstand the equivalent of 55 kilograms (120 lbs) of force and the extended operating temperature range – makes the camera ideal for any application, no matter whether the area is hot or cold or vandal prone, enabling these products to be used almost everywhere. Easy migration Because they can deliver consistently reliable images in all lighting conditions, the 720p HD cameras are expected to replace SD IP cameras, and as such can be viewed as the new standard for professional video surveillance systems. “The addition of these cost-effective, highperformance cameras underlines our commitment to constantly improving our range of security cameras, and accelerates the transition from analog to IP,” says Gerard Otterspeer, Product Marketing Manager at Bosch Security Systems. “The hybrid output that is standard on these cameras will even further accommodate this.” Accessible from anywhere Bosch Security Systems is introducing the Dynamic Transcoding Technology to its portfolio as standalone units for large systems and as an integral part of upcoming IP video storage appliances for small and medium systems. This technology offers all our customers using IP and HD cameras remote monitoring now also at low bandwidths. The addition of this functionality allows instant replay without buffering. “Transcoding is a great improvement to our range,” explains Otterspeer. “The user experience is instantaneously: just click and play!” Certified interoperability For multiple camera surveillance set-ups, the interoperability of various devices is a crucial factor to ensure cost-efficiency and functioning of the devices. All Dinion HD 720p and FlexiDome HD 720p RD cameras conform to the ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum), which guarantees interoperability between network video products regardless of the manufacturer. ONVIF-conformant devices are able to exchange live video, audio, metadata and control information. They are automatically detected Page 2 of 3 and connected to network applications, such as video management systems.
