Introduction The complete cost of a telecom outlet must take into account the entire infrastructure to support the outlet. This include items like the telecom room, patch cables, trunk cabling, and central building support. The below costs are categorized into the following: Patch Cables, Telecom Outlet, Telecom Room, Trunk Cabling, and Central Site Cross Connect Room for comparison. The current telecom outlet media consists of the following: Four CAT6 cables One 4 strand 50um multi-mode fiber cable
The following assumptions have been made for these costs. Summary The cost above is just for the infrastructure costs for a telecom outlet. No active devices have been determined in these equations for the ports to connect. These cost also do not calculate the cost of the site cross connect telecom room. Since the site room costs would be divided by the number of telecom rooms supported by the site room and then the number of outlets supported by each telecom room, this number can be determined to be small and around $100.00.
