Remove/Install the Engine Intercooler B. Install an Engine Intercooler The Note is added and item 2 of the existing table is amended to read: Detail Steps/Work Items % Note: % Key Items/References Do not bend or kink the charger hoses during Installation. If there are signs of kinking, replace the engine intercooler hose. (2) Connect the flexible hoses and aluminum tubes that connect the intercooler to the turbo charger and engine air intake manifold: S Move the worm-drive-clamps into position on Do not tighten the worm-drive-clamps! the flexible hoses. % % % % % % % S Apply water to the inside of the hoses to ease hose installation. Refer to Figure 4 or 5. S Push the flexible hose onto the intercooler connector. S If MÄM 40-820 is installed: Refer to Figure 3A. S Make sure that the position of the support % rings of the bellows are in front of the % aluminum connector and not on it. Check % that the bellows of the hose are not % compressed or stretched. If necessary % realign charge air hose. S The aluminum charge air tube must have at least 5 mm (12mm, if MÄM 40-630 is incorporated) clearance to the fire wall and positive clearance (5mm, if MÄM 40-630 is incorporated) to the RSGU clamp at the coolant aluminum tube aft of the engine. S Move the worm-drive-clamps into the correct position. % % S If MÄM 40-639 or MÄM 40-691 or MÄM 40820 is installed, bond the protective pad Doc # 6.02.15 AMM-TR-MÄM 40-820 81-00-00 Page 203b 17 Nov 2015 Temporary Revision Flexible Charge Air Hose DA 40 NG AMM AIRCRAFT Detail Steps/Work Items Key Items/References using Dow Corning 736 to the red turbocharger hoses underneath the housings of the worm-drive-clamps. S Move the worm-drive-clamps into the correct position and tighten the worm-drive-clamps. S Install the coolant tank to the intercooler. Refer to Figure 3.
