KTD-404 Controller Keypad Installation and Operations Guide Operation NOTE: Key Layouts NOTE: KTD-404 Key Layout A KTD-404 series keypad can address and control 512 P/T/Z receiver sites, operate a matrix switcher with 64 monitor outputs, address and select views from 64 multiplexers, and provide management of access control points. VCR control is only possible from the KTD-400 keypad. Figures 44 and 45 display key layouts for the KTD-404 and KTD-304R respectively. Description and operation of each key is presented on the following pages. The preset and annunciation options referred to in this chapter will function only if activated during KTD-404 setup. Also used for preset position selection when applicable. Refreshes alphanumeric display on the selected monitor. Also used to clear infinite alarms using numerical keys. clear Used in combination with 0 through auto to engage the preset tour mode. set 9 to find preset positions. Also used with Pan/Tilt/Zoom Control Keys zoom in , zoom out focus near , focus far iris open , iris close Used to control the zoom function of the selected receiver site’s motorized lens. Used to control the focus function of the selected receiver site’s motorized lens. Also used to disengage the autofocus feature on the CyberDome. Used to control the iris function of the selected receiver site’s motorized lens. Also used to toggle between on/off when Backlight Compensation is enabled. Joystick Used to move the selected receiver site’s camera up, down, left, or right in P/T operation. Used to select views for multiplexer operation. Places the selected receiver site’s pan/tilt unit in the auto pan mode (camera pans left and right automatically). Also used in combination with set to initiate the preset tour mode. auto auto focus Engages auto focus mode on the CyberDome. Video Switcher Control Keys mon Used in combination with the number keys (0-9) to select an active monitor. seq Used to select sequence tour on active monitor. Toggles the active monitor between the alarm on and alarm off modes. alarm Access Control Keys open 1st , close Used to operate the selected receiver site’s door, gate, or turnstile access control. Used in access control applications to automatically select camera sites in the order in which they call in. This key will function only when the keypad has been programmed for annunciation. Special Application Keys face badge 22 Used to select KTR-11 Face/Badge Reader’s face camera. Used to select KTR-11’s badge camera (or inserted badge view, if applicable). D0404SG0_B KTD-404 Controller Keypad Installation and Operations Guide door1 , door2 Used to select auxiliary camera views from KTR-11’s video switcher circuitry. open 1 , open 2 Used for two-way audio communication with selected site, when applicable (KTD404A and KTD-304RA only). talk vol NOTE: Used to operate the selected receiver site’s door for access control. vol Used to adjust audio level on KTD-404A or KTD-304RA. The volume level at each audio site is stored in the memory of the 304RA and 404A’s memory; when the site is called at a later date, it will not need to be adjusted again. Multiplexer Function Keys NOTE: The following keys may function differently, or not at all, on some models of multiplexers. alt Toggles the keypad between DIGIPLEX and multiplexer view control modes. This is the key on the KTD-304R. run Selects automatic switching of videos in lower right window of current view; also used in setup of motion detection areas. sel Used to select an active multiplexer. zoom Toggles between a full screen view and a 2x view of the selected video, if available on the specific multiplexer. live Used to view the live video inputs in any of the display modes; also used during setup of motion detection areas vcr Selects VCR output for monitoring during taping or VCR input for viewing during playback. Also used in setup of motion detection areas. full Used by some multiplexer types to restore full view. view D0404SG0_B mplx Toggles between selected views. 23 KTD-404 Controller Keypad Installation and Operations Guide Keypad Operation When power is first supplied to a KTD-404 series keypad, the LCD display will briefly display the words “Controller Keypad” or the keypad type and then appear as shown below: Figure 46: KTD-404’s Normal Operating Display CAMERA 000 MONITOR 01 From this display and by observing the system’s monitors, the operator uses the function keys for control. If the annunciation feature has been activated, the display will also show an empty call-in queue. Figure 47: KTD-404’s Normal Operating Display with Annunciation CAM 000 MON 01 1ST 2ND 3RD Monitor Selection To select a monitor, press mon and use 0 through Example: To select Monitor 12, press mon to enter the desired number. 9 , , 1 2 All video switching operations will now be performed on the selected monitor. Camera Selection To select a camera, use 0 through 9 to enter the desired number. Example: To select Camera 345, press , 3 4 , 5 The camera associated with the site will appear on the selected monitor, and all keys applicable to that site will become operational (e.g., pan, tilt, zoom, etc.). Engaging Auto Focus on CyberDomes To engage auto focus on CyberDomes, press auto focus . Use focus near or focus far to disengage. Finding a Preset To find a preset, select the desired camera, press set and use 0 through 9 to enter the preset number. The entry may be one or two digits depending on the largest preset position programmed in the keypad setup. Example: To find preset 6, press NOTE: set , 6 . The preset option referred to in this chapter will function only if activated during KTD-404 setup. Preset Tours To activate a camera’s preset tours or ShadowTour, select the desired camera and press set , auto , and the tour number (1-4). On older models of the CyberDome, only one preset tour could be programmed. Entering any tour number will activate the preset tour. To deactivate the tour, nudge the joystick. 24 D0404SG0_B KTD-404 Controller Keypad Installation and Operations Guide Camera Sequencing To place a monitor in the sequence mode: Select the monitor, and press display window: seq . The following display will appear in the keypad’s Figure 48: Sequence Selection ENTER SEQUENCE NUMBER? = (1-7) Use 1 through 4 to enter the desired sequence tour. Setting Electronic Auto Pan Limits for Kalatel Domes To set the electronic auto pan limits on Kalatel dome receivers, first position the dome at the limit. While holding down the zoom and zoom out keys, move the joystick in the direction of the limit in being set. Example: To set the left limit, move the dome to the position of the desired left limit. While holding down the zoom and zoom out keys, move the joystick left . in Video Alarms To place a monitor in or remove it from the alarm mode, select the monitor and press alarm . Each time alarm is pressed, it either places the monitor in, or removes it from, the alarm mode. When a monitor is in the alarm mode, an “A” appears on the monitor screen. In this mode, the monitor will automatically call up alarmed sites. Figure 49: Monitor Screen with Alarm Mode Enabled NOTE: A monitor will only respond to alarms if it is in the alarm mode. A manual video call up will take a monitor out of the alarm mode. Clearing Alarms In a DIGIPLEX system, alarmed sites can be programmed to remain on the monitor screen indefinitely, and must be cleared by the operator. To clear the alarm, press clear and use 0 through 9 to enter the site number. Example: To clear alarm site 22, press D0404SG0_B clear , 0 , 2 , 2 . 25 KTD-404 Controller Keypad Installation and Operations Guide Annunciation When the KTD-404 keypad is programmed for site annunciation, it will stack as many as 32 call-in requests in the order in which they were received. The numbers of the first three sites appear in the keypad’s display window. The site will be removed from the queue, and waiting requests will move up in order. 2) To call up any site in the queue, use 0 through 9 to enter the site number. In multiplexer mode, a tone will sound every 5 seconds. Two-Way Audio To establish two-way audio communication with a site, use 0 through 9 to enter the site number. Use the volume keys to adjust the audio level. Press talk to speak to the site. NOTE: When used with a KTD-336, set the attenuation jumpers on the Audio Card to the “On” position. Standard setup (system hard-wired) should maintain the attenuation jumper in the “Off” position. See figure 51 for location of the attenuation jumpers. Calling up a Video Input on an Active Multiplexer Once the desired multiplexer has been selected, enter the video input number desired by using the number keys 0 - 9 . Example: To call up video input number 9 on the active multiplexer, enter Selecting Multiple Camera Views on a Multiplexer 0 , 9 . Switching a Multiplexer to Live Video Press the live key to place the active multiplexer in the live video mode. Placing the Multiplexer in the Camera Sequence Mode Press the run key to place the active multiplexer in the video sequence mode. Viewing VCR Output or Playback. vcr Press the key to view the output for the VCR during recording or playback from the VCR during review of the VCR tapes. Operating Electronic Zoom For multiplexers equipped with zoom capability, the zoom key will switch the multiplexer to this mode. While viewing in this mode, the joystick is used to move the zoom area within the image. (Electronic Zoom may vary according to the model of multiplexer.) Press the view key to step the active multiplexer between those views programmed to be available for that multiplexer.
