MidasAnAir 3040 Applications About ultraviolet radiation The ultraviolet radiation has a wavelength covering a spectrum between 100 and 400 Nanometres and can be found in the solar light. This type of radiation can be classified in three categories, based on its wavelength:
UV-A radiation, ranging from 315 to 400nm wavelength UV-B, ranging from 280 to 315nm wavelength UV-C, ranging from 100 to 260nm wavelength
Ultraviolet radiation has been used as a means of destroying airborne bacteria and disease when subjected to proper levels. The highest germicidal effect can be achieved at 254nm, when the nucleus acids of microorganisms are best absorbed

Electronic timer to record the total working time of the UV-C generators. Microprocessor based system with permanent monitoring and auto-checking of the purifier for identifying potential malfunctions (e.g. with the UV-C generators, air circulation system, exceeding the recommended lifetime for the UV-C lamp). The scope is to identify the potentialy partial or total incapacity of the air purifier to clean the air. It has a warning system (both visual and audio) that automatically de-activates the device, until the problem is solved. A remote control for turning on/off the device and selection of an appropriate running time according to the room volume so as to ensure an effective sanitization of the air and a maximum lifetime for the generators. Visual and audio signaling of the main events (turn on, turn off, UV-C generators reaching the maximum lifetime, et cetera.)
The unclean air flow is captured in the air inlet. The UV-C generators are mounted inside the body of the device. Their radiation is concentrated through a system of ellipsoidal mirrors that form a resonant cavity, thus leading to a maximum efficiency. The air circulation time is optimized according to the energy needed to destroy the microorganisms and the energy generated by the system. It is important mentioning that this patented principle (UVC radiation guided through a system of mirrors) led to an increased efficiency of the air purifier. It was designed and built as a system completely harmless to the user (nonionic radiation, produces zero ozone) and benefiting from a maximum efficiency. The air in the room is disinfected with 99% efficiency.
Microbiological tests Several tests have been conducted to check the performance and operating mode of the device. Over a preset period of time microbiological air samples have been taken from a room where MidasAnAir devices were installed. The results show the evolution of the pollution with microorganisms over a period of 3 hours. The high effectiveness of the device is proved by up to 99% lowering of the level of microorganisms.
