INSTRUCTIONS FU"ICA x-s MOUNT ADAPTER The Fujica Mount Adapter x-s is used for mounting Praktica screw-mount Fujinon tenses on the Fujica X-series SLR cameras (Fujica AX-5, AX-3, AX-1, and STX-1). The exposure mode is stopped-down automatic exposure with t-he~X-3 and AX-1, and stopped-down mete,ring with' the-S.T~ 1, but it is equipped with an automatic diaphragm toa1LQw you to focus with a bright, fully open tenso -- 8MOUNTING Screw the Fujinon lens into the Mount Adapter X-S. Then place the red dot"on the adapter's rear end against the red dot on the camera's lens mount and turn the jel}¡i- §5' to the right. It will lock into position with a click. 8TAKING PICTURES ( 1) With the Fujica AX-5, AX-3 and AX-1 1. Mount the Praktica screw-mount Fujinon lens on the camera by means of the Mount Adapter X-S. 2. Set the shutter speed selector to "AE" or "AEL". (S~etit to "AE"_in the case of the AX-1.) . "' -~~Set the aperture ring to the desired value. 3. Wind the film and focus the tenso 4. Press in the camera's preview button to stop down the aperture, then press the shutter release halfway down to check the exposure setting and trip the shutter by squeezing the release button gently down. Notes: CD When taking automatic exposure pictures on stopped-down metering, use an eyecup to prevent extraneous light from entering throug h the viewfinder and fouling up your exposure setting. ~ If you are shooting with the shutter speed selector set to "AEL" on the AX-5 or AX-3, or if you are using this adapter on the AX-1, be SUTeto press in the preview button before you press the shutter release halfway down. Otherwise your picture will not turn out properly exposed. CID If you are using the adapter' on the AX-5, the LEO aperture indicator in the viewfinder will always turn on in the lowest position regardless of the aperture which is seto Caution is required, therefore, because it is impossible to check the aperture while looking through the viewfinder. 8TAKING PICTURES (II) With the Fujica STX-1 1. Mount the Fujinon lens on the camera by means of the Mount Adapter X-S. 2. While looking through the viewfinder, press in the preview button, hold it there, and press the shutter release halfway down. The exposure meter needle will move upward. Then turn the aperture ring so that the meter needle is centered. 3. Focus the lens, compose your picture and squeeze the shutter release gently down. INSTRUCTIONS FU..J.CA MOUNT ADAPTER X-D The Fujiea Mount Adapter X-D is specially designad for mounting Praktiea serew-mount Fujinon tenses on the Fujiea AX-5. With this adaptar, you can take shutter-preferred and programmed automatie exposure pietures using serew-mount Fujinon tenses. It can siso be usad on the Fujiea AX-3, AX-1, and STX-1. 8MOUNTING First, serew the Praktiea serew-mount lens into the Mount Adapter X-D. Then place the red dot on the adapter's rear end against the red dot on the eamera's lens mount and turn the lens 65° to the right. It will loeks into position with a cliek. 8SETTING ~ THE MAXIMUM APERTURE (with the Fujica AX-5) If you are using this adaptar on the Fujiea AX-5, set the maximum apertura of the lens you are using by aligning the eorresponding f-number on the apertura seale of the Mount Adapter with the red tina on the lens mount. If you are using a Fujinon 1 : 1.4/50 mm lens, for example, align "1.4" with the red tina. Note: The maximum apertura seale has six positions: M, 1.4, 2, 2.8, 4, and 5.6. If the adaptar does--not have the--ocorresponding f-number, set it to the one nearest to that number. ... .USING THE ADAPTER WITH THE STX-1 If you are using it with the Fujica STX-I, the exposure moda is stopped-down metering. In this case, align "M" on the apertura scale with the red tina. .TAKING PICTURES ( 1 ) Automatic exposure on full-aperture metering with the Fujica AX-5 1. Mount the Fujinon lens on the camera by means of the Mount Adapter X-D. 2. Set the maximum apertura of the lens (See the paragraph entitled "Setting the maximum aperture".) -- 3. Turn the apertura ring and set it to the minul)1um apertura of the lens. Example: If you are using a Fujinon 1 : 1.4/50mm, set it to F16. 4. If you WaIlt to take programmed automatic exposure pictures, set the camera's shutter speed dial to "AE" or "AEL". If you are taking shutter-preferred automatic exposure pictures, set it to the shutter speed you want. 5', Wind the film, focus the lens 'and depress the shutter ratease. The eamera will automatically give you a correctly exposed picture. Note: Be gura to set the apertura ring to the minimum apertura, or you will not get properly exposed pictures. .TAKING Automatic AX-1 PICTURES exposure (II) on stopped-down metering with the Fujica AX-5, AX-3 and 1. Mount the Fujinon lens on the camera by means of the Mount Adapter X-D. 2. Set the maximum apertura scale on the Adapter to "M". 3. Turn the apertura ring and set it to the f-number you want. Set the shutter speed dial to "AE" or "AEL". 4. Wind the film, focus the lens, then press in the preview button to stop down the apertura, and depress the shutter release.
