Product Specifications
Preheating is achieved as Nitrogen is output from the nozzle surrounding the heater pipe. Using Nitrogen reduces oxidization and improves solder wetting and fillet shape. NOTE Preheat effect cannot be achieved using the RX-802ASPH alone. A Nitrogen gas cylinder or Nitrogen generator (available separately) is also required. We recommend using the NC-100R N2 Station to control gas flow.

Improving lead-free soldering Advantages of the Preheat Effect •Allows soldering work to be done with a tip temperature similar to that for Eutectic solder (Sn-Pb), even though leadfree solder has a high melting point temperature. •Enables quicker soldering because there is minimal temperature fluctuation during soldering work. •Reduces solder splashing or damage caused by heat-shocks during soldering by preheating the components or the solder itself. Advantages of Preheating with Nitrogen •Reduces oxidization of the solder joint area and the tip. •Improves the solder wetting and fillet shape.
