01/2014 SafeWay - Seismic Protection System User Manual Introduction SafeWay Security System provides a comprehensive solution for access-route protection. It is based on sensitive seismic technology. SafeWay operates with seismic sensors which recognize threats whenever fluctuations are sensed in their vicinity. The system identifies the intruder’s movements as soon as he enters the access route, road or path, and provides an early warning before the intrusion actually occurs. SafeWay is installed below ground, cannot be detected nor sabotaged and does not change the area’s appearance. The system’s self-learning algorithm has an extremely high recognition level of diverse threats, with minimum false alerts. The system is able to recognize a range of threats above and below ground, such as: Footsteps, moving vehicles, digging actions or other intrusions. 1. Components 1.1. 1.2. 1.3. 1.4. 1.5. 1.6. Seismic Processing Unit Seismic Sensors (Geophone) Communication Cable for processing unit Communication Cable for PC SensoGuard PC-Suite installation disc Cellular Modem (Optional) 2. Setting Up the System 2.1. The system provide with SensoGuard Pc Suite software, which allows a complete definition of the system operation. Many efforts have been invested in order to make the setup software easy and intuitive See Chapter Pc Suite software. 3. Installation 3.1. Check the integrity of the system components, verify that all system components intact, not damaged, broken, cracked or torn. 3.2. dig a trench 50 cm depth 20 cm width cable length (for each sensor) 3.3. Fix the sensor at the bottom of the trench straight – as shown above. 3.4. Make sure that the sensor lies well in the ground and doesn’t move 3.5. Cover the sensor gently with soil without stones and tighten lightly - so that the sensor will not move or change his angle 3.6. Cover the sensor cable gently with soil without stones and tighten lightly 3.7. Connect the seismic sensors to the processing unit as shown bellow (red dots face each other) 3.8. If using a cellular modem – connect the modem to the processing unit, using the 5 pin connector communication cable. (The modem must be sown to a depth 10 cm maximum) 3.9. If using an existing alarm system – connect with relay card, see picture below 4. Specifications: 2 4.1. Coverage area: 120 m 4.2. Operation voltage: 3.5v – 5v DC 4.3. Operating temperature: -40ºc - +70ºc 4.4. Relative humidity: 95% 4.5. IP Rating: IP-67 4.6. UV protection 5. Testing 5.1. Communication Test 5.1.1. Insert suitable Sim card with a package that allows sending text messages (SMS ) - make sure the card is pin code free. The cellular company network must support 2G. 5.1.2. Make sure the 8 1.5vAA battery are in place 5.1.3. Turn on the modem by connecting the power connector as shown below 5.1.4. 5.1.5. 5.1.6. 5.1.7. Make sure the modem is synchronized - red LED flashes for 0.5 second every 1.5 seconds Set recipients (see explanation in software Pc- Suite ) Connect the modem to the processing unit, using the 5 pin connector communication cable. Disconnect one of the sensors and make sure Receive a "Sensor Disconnected" message * * During the communication test move at least 3 meters from the cellular modem. 5.2. Processing Unit Test 5.2.1. Make sure all sensors connect as describe in 3.7 5.2.2. Move 3 meters from the sensors and make 10 stomping foot, wait for a minute and make sure receiving a text message "Intruder Detected" 6. Restrictions and prohibitions 6.1. Do not install the system within less than 300 meters from train tracks, or 200 meters from a main roads Batteries Replacement Processing Unit 1. Open the processing unit box using a Phillips screwdriver (half a turn until the screw will own up). 2. Open the 2 screws lock the upper plate, remove it gently. 3. Remove the battery from the battery holder and disconnect it from the black electricity card. 4. Insert the new battery connector into the electricity card ( make sure the LED lights up ). 5. Insert the battery to the battery holder and close the 2 screws lock the upper plate. 6. Close processing unit box and tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver (half a turn to lock himself). 7. Connect the processing unit to a PC and run SensoGuard Pc Suite Software (in ordered to update the time and date) 8. Put the processing unit back in place and connect the seismic sensors and the cellular modem Cellular Modem 1. Open the modem unit box using a Phillips screwdriver (half a turn until the screw will own up). 2. Open the 2 screws lock the upper plate, remove it gently. 3. Remove the 8 1.5vAA batteries from the battery holder and replace them with 8 new batteries. 4. Close the 2 screws lock the upper plate. 5. Close modem unit box and tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver (half a turn to lock himself). 6. Put the Cellular modem back in place and connect it to the processing unit. 7. Disconnect one of the sensors and make sure Receive a "Sensor Disconnected" message * * During the communication test move at least 3 meters from the cellular modem. Important highlights: • Make sure to insert the batteries according to the direction shown on the battery holder. • Make sure to replace all batteries in each replacement. SensoGuard PC-Suite SensoGuard PC Suite program is a configuration tool for our systems. Installation 1. Run the installation file in the CD 2. In case a window opens , choose run 3. In the welcome window, Select next 4. Choose the path or next for the default path, make sure "Everyone" radio button is selected 5. Choose next to confirm installation (if a window opens choose run) 6. At the end click close to finish installation. 7. To start the program: Start SensoGuardPC-Suite Configuring a system To configure a unit please select "Device setup" in the main window Connect the supplied configuration cable between the system communication port to PC serial port (DB9 connection) and then press connect. *. In case you don't have DB9 connection, you can use USB to RS232 cable Select sensitivity level for each threat by moving the slider:  Move the slider right to increase sensitivity  Move the slider left to decrease sensitivity *. Please notice: to cancel a threat, move the slider to the left corner and make sure that the green radio button (on) next to the threat icon change to gray (off). Configure the time delay (in minutes) between adjacent system alarms. In the next window:  Configure system working hours  Configure the intervals between keep alive messages  Configure phone numbers of recipients for system SMS messages Review the system configuration at the last window and press next to finish *. You can save system configuration by pressing the "Save To" icon Choose apply to download the configuration to Sensoguard system
