OVERVIEW
The NVIDIA® Quadro® M4000 graphics board (PG400 SKU 501) is the industry’s fastest single slot form factor graphics add-in card based on the NVIDIA Maxwell™ architecture graphics processing unit (GPU). The Quadro M4000 graphics board is targeted as a highperformance workstation graphics solution for PCI Express systems and brings a whole new level of performance and features to professional graphics and GPU computing applications. The Quadro M4000 graphics card is NVIDIA’s next generation high-end graphics board, which significantly raises the bar for High Performance Visualization and Computation. It delivers OpenGL 4.5, Microsoft DirectX 12.0 and Shader Model 5.0 hardware acceleration, as well as 2-way NVIDIA® SLI® support that brings a whole new level of performance and features to professional graphics and GPU computing applications. The Quadro M4000 graphics board helps create impactful large scale display ‘spectacles’ with 4K resolutions. Also, allows for more design iterations and more creative risks can be taken by having faster renders. The NVIDIA Quadro M4000 utilizes the world’s fastest and most power-efficient GPU architecture. Key performance features and capabilities include: 8 GB ultra-fast GDDR5 graphics memory allows designers and animators to model,
store and render characters and scenes at unprecedented speed, complexity, and smoothness. 1,664 streaming multiprocessor (SMX) cores deliver faster visualization and compute
horsepower to preview work more naturally in real-time. Supports four simultaneous displays and up to 4K resolution with VESA®
DisplayPort™ (output) 1.2.
SYNC + Ultra low latency video I/O and support for large scale visualizations.

Note: 1 The total board power is the average board power that should be used as a system design target. This is the power requirement of an NVIDIA Quadro M4000 board. 2
The GPU maximum operating temperature is the maximum GPU temperature at which the card is guaranteed to operate at the target performance (base clock) under the total board power level. 3
The NVIDIA GPU Boost feature will automatically raise or lower the GPU clocks to maintain or stay below this GPU target temperature. If the GPU target temperature cannot be maintained, the NVIDIA GPU Boost feature is disabled and clocks are locked to base.

The Quadro M4000 uses an on-board current and voltage monitoring device to limit the duration of current spikes that exceed a programmable hardware threshold (HT) limit. In addition, the maximum peak input current is also specified, based on characterization of worst-case transient workloads. Straight Extender
Using the standard NVIDIA extender ensures greatest forward compatibility with
future NVIDIA product offerings.
If the standard extender will not work, OEMs may design a custom attach method
using the extender mounting holes on the heat sink baseplate. The extender mounting holes will vary among Quadro products, so designing for flexibility is recommended.
