Model WLANC11 Wireless Ethernet LAN Card The ESTeem Wireless Ethernet LAN Card provides high performance and low-maintenance network connectivity for on-the-move individuals using laptop computers, mobile data systems and appliances that accept a PCMCIA device. Our “license free,” spread spectrum, 2.4 GHz Wireless LAN Card allows users to interface peer to peer or to the ESTeem Model 192E Wireless Access Point for bridging to the wired LAN or any 802.11b compatible device. The packet burst communications and spreading technique was chosen to give the system very high data integrity in high noise industrial environments. Networking Protocols The ESTeem Wireless LAN Card provides an Ethernet interface through the host device's PCMCIA slot. The ESTeem Wireless LAN Card supports all standard Ethernet based protocols including full support for TCP/IP networks. The 11 Mbps data throughput provides increased computer networking for quick access to remote PLC data, programming, and diagnostics for industrial control applications. Software drivers are provided for easy configuration and diagnostics for Windows 95/98/ME, Windows NT/2000 and Linux. Features • 2.4 GHz Operation for World Wide • • • • • • Dynamic Data Scaling for Reliable Data Throughput By using dynamic scaling, the unit always seeks 11 Mbps then automatically scales, if signal strength varies, to 5.5, 2, or 1 Mbps for increased signal range and clarity. As signal clarity increases its speed is increased until the system reaches an optimal rate, ensuring the highest level of service and best continuity for data transmission. ENVIRONMENTAL Notes 1. Actual data transmission rates may vary considerably depending on the number of users, type of usage (file sizes and frequency of up/down loading), speed of networking, typical packet size, and distance from the access point or other mobile user. Walls, partitions, ceiling, racks, and merchandise, and the composition of the building’s construction affect operating range in buildings. 2. In open office environments, antennas can “see” each other, i.e. there are no physical obstructions between them. 3. In semi-open office environments, workspace is divided by shoulder height, hollow wall elements; antennas are at desktop level. 4. In closed office environments, workspace is separated by floor-to-ceiling masonry walls or equivalent. Operating • 32 to 95 deg. F. (0 to 35 deg.
