Ideal for short and long-form content delivery
Easy, affordable media exchange The practical delivery tool for independent producers, corporate and government video communications and training programs. ClipExpress® is revolutionizing the way video communicators and content creators deliver video. No more worries about tape duplication, tape formats or shipping deadlines—and total freedom from satellite and teleconference schedules. ClipExpress is an affordable solution for sending and receiving digital media packages over existing data networks, including the Internet. With ClipExpress, you get extraordinary control. Choose the video quality you prefer (approval to broadcast quality), and send media over any network connection, at any speed. Our store-and-forward technology means unpredictable network performance will never affect the quality of your media. RCA inputs allow you to capture media directly from standard VTRs, NLEs, receiver monitors and audio equipment. Video, audio and timecode are all stored on the internal hard drive. You select the video compression quality, from MPEG-1 128 Kbps up to MPEG-2 8 Mbps, giving you practical choices for transmission over low-cost networks (such as ISDN, DSL or cable modems). And, built-in 525 (NTSC) and
625 (PAL) standards conversion allows you to play back video from anywhere in the world. Send it now, or schedule delivery for later—the choice is yours. The time required to send a video parcel is determined by your choice of quality and the speed of your network connection. Your parcel can be delivered to another Telestream system for playback (or laying off to tape), or delivered to a standard FTP server. And since most of today’s data network connections are always “on,” you won’t need an attendant to receive media parcels. ClipExpress can also be used to acquire media from tape for submission to Telestream’s FlipFactory, which offers automatic transcoding into multiple digital and streaming formats and delivery to destination servers. ClipExpress is as easy to learn and operate as a fax machine or email. We’ve built every function you’ll need—including address, send, store, and playback— into our simple on-screen menus. The hand-held remote allows DVD-like convenience for viewing and playback on standard full-screen video monitors. The power and convenience of ClipExpress just gets better. New version 4.1 software provides powerful new enhancements, including auto-pull from FTP servers, which facilitates media delivery through tight firewalls as well as distribution to multiple ClipMails (ref. application note).

Telestream’s Media Distribution Protocol (MDP) utilizes FTP as the primary transport. MDP enhances delivery by: ensuring file compatibility between sending and receiving ClipMail systems, verifying receive-system status and reserving disk space. MDP provides automatic and manual “resume transfer” functionality to overcome network failures. Other media delivery features include: • Scheduled Send: to take advantage of reduced network congestion • Delivery status progress bar • Automatic email confirmation of delivery
