About the NC316 Fiber Driver Series This document will explain how to properly install the NC316BU-1/AC Fiber Driver. The NC316 Fiber Driver series are designed to accommodate a variety of slide-in modules, which perform different functions such as converting multi-mode to single-mode signals, converting 100BaseTX to 100BaseFX, and many others. A variety of optics are available (on the fiber modules), with varying output levels, so you may precisely tailor the unit to meet your distance requirements. The NC316 Fiber Driver comes with an internal auto-ranging power supply unit that allows operation worldwide, without the hassles and limitations of external adapters.
Configuring the NC316BU-1/AC There is nothing to configure on the NC316BU-1/AC. The front panel legend properly identifies the signal outputs and inputs. Please refer to the specific EM316 Expansion Modules Installation Guide for the device specification on the expansion module that was installed on the chassis.

Place the unit on a flat surface and connect the power cord. Verify that the Module Power LED illuminates. Attach the data cables (please refer to the specific EM316 Expansion Modules Installation Guide for the device specification on the expansion module that was installed on the converter). Install the EM316 expansion module as shown in below.
