The Si5334 and Si5338 are capable of synthesizing any frequency of each of the device’s four differential outputs, independent of any input frequency and with no integer relation, providing low jitter clock generation. The Si5330 is a low jitter, low skew clock output buffer ideal for general purpose clock distribution.

Digi Releases Industry's First 802.11a/b/g Secure Embedded Networking Core Module Digi International introduces the ConnectCore™ Wi-9P 9215, the industry’s first 802.11a/b/g embedded core module for secure wireless networking and integrated application processing. Customers can now network their devices in the common 802.11b/g 2.4 GHz band or the uncrowded 802.11a 5 GHz band for improved reliability and performance. The ConnectCore Wi-9P 9215 is pre-certified for 802.11a/b/g networking by the FCC in North America and other regulatory organizations in Europe and Japan. This certification may be applied to end-user devices designed with the module so customers don’t have to perform time consuming and costly wireless certifications.
The ConnectCore Wi-9P 9215 also features state-of-the-art security including WEP, WPA, WPA2/ 802.11i and on-chip AES acceleration for encryption 10 times faster than software-only solutions.

Vitesse Introduces Secure Carrier Grade Ethernet Switches Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation has announced the SparX-II-16™ and SparX-II-24™ Switch-on-aChip (SoC) devices with an integrated, high-performance processing engine. SparX-II™, the second generation of the popular SparX™ family of Gigabit Ethernet switches, introduces Carrier-class features such as content aware security, fast failover protection and advanced Quality of Service (QoS). The SparX-II boasts Metro Ethernet Forum-specified (MEF) Carrier Ethernet and advanced telecom. The fast protection switching enables the device to achieve redundancy switching times significantly below the 50ms SONET telecom specification. In addition, the devices incorporate OAM functions such as IEEE802.1ag (Connectivity Fault Management) for use in Layer-2 (L2) managed and backplane solutions as well as in Synchronous Ethernet with SSM according to ITU-G.8264/Y.1362. The advanced security and traffic prioritizing features of the SparX-II devices are delivered through the addition of Vitesse’s Content Aware Processor (VCAP™) for wire-speed, deep packet inspection used in security and other heavy packet inspection applications. Vitesse’s VCAP processor is a TCAM-based processor capable of inbound and outbound wire-speed packet inspection that includes the ability to do frame filtering, rate limitation, snooping, redirect, mirroring, and accounting functions. The VCAP embeds powerful protocol awareness for well-known protocols, such as ARP, IPv4, IPv6, and UDP/TCP.

CSR announces TrueWireless Stereo, a new software development kit for high-end Bluetooth stereo headphones and speakers. Based on CSR’s popular BlueCore5-Multimedia platform, TrueWireless Stereo allows manufacturers to bring high quality and innovative Bluetooth products aimed for stereo headsets and speakers to market very quickly. The development kit is based on the use of two Bluetooth devices, one as the master and the other as the slave. The call handling and control are supported on the master device which then relays the audio stream to the slave headset. This allows the product to work with any existing A2DP device already on the market. Audio is streamed from the audio source to the master unit and is relayed to the slave using CSR’s proprietary synchronisation protocol, resulting in truly wireless stereo sound to either a headset or to speakers.
