SINUMERIK 810D / 840Di sl / 840D / 840D sl Upgrade Instructions PCU Base Software WinXP Hotfix 08.00.00.01 16/12/2005 **************************************************************************** * * * Hotfix V08.00.00.01 for PCU Base Software WinXP V08.00.00.00 * * December 2005 * * * **************************************************************************** This software may only be installed on an existing PCU 50.3 system with PCU Base Software WinXP V08.00.00.00. Installation updates the Base Software to become version 08.00.00.01. The installation is not mandatory, only if required. Changes between V08.00.00.01 and V08.00.00.00 ============================================= Function extensions: ============ ========= 1. Improved TCU support for the operation of HT 8 on powerline control systems. 2. Improved ServiceCenter for backup/restore with Ghost 3. Bootable USB memory stick with ServiceCenter 4. Current Microsoft security updates 5. Network connections of the PCU 50.3 renamed to "Company Network" and "System Network". Note for 1. When a TCU is logged on to the system for the first time, the address of the assigned machine control panel (MCP) is requested in addition to the TCU name. This address is currently only relevant for powerline; the default value is 6. When an HT 8 is logged on to the system for the first time, the TCU name is suggested as "DIPx" with x being the address setting in the distribution box. This TCU name must be changed to "HT8" or "HT8_x" (applies for operation in HMI Advanced 7.2). For this purpose it is necessary that a USB keyboard is connected to the HT 8. The MCP address requested for the HT 8 should match the address setting in the distribution box. Under this address, the machine control keys of the HT 8 are transmitted to the powerline PLC. Address range 1–15 is permissible for powerline. Important: Entry "AdaptResolution=0" in TCU.INI must not be changed. Note for 2. When ServiceCenter is selected, the PCU 50.3 will be booted in any case and will run up in WinPE. The network for backup/restore can be connected either through the company network on Ethernet 1 ("company network") or directly with fixed IP addresses on Ethernet 2 ("system network") (IP default 192.168.214.241) of the PCU 50.3. The original documentation for Ghost8 / Ghost32 is available on the PCU 50.3 under E:\Tools. The backup/restore function via GhostCastServer has not been released. Note for 3. "ServiceCenter" of the PCU Base Software is now available bootable from USB stick (on Base WinPE) and replaces the "emergency boot disks". After installation of the hotfix, the image for creating the "Emergency Boot System" on USB stick is available on the PCU 50.3 under D:\Eboot. Booting from the USB stick via the front USB of a directly connected OP is also possible, but is much slower. Booting via a TCU is not possible. Follow the same procedure to create an emergency boot stick on the PC/PG. Ghost32 is required on the PC/PG for this purpose. Important: − Saving network settings on the USB stick is currently not possible. − The "Emergency Boot System" will not work, if a DVI monitor is directly connected to the DVI interface of the PCU 50.3. VGA operation via a DVI-VGA adapter is possible only. List of security updates for 4. Corrected with new MPI drivers V6.4.0.0_01.10.00.01 * ERLde69217 TCU support: HMI Advanced area menu might have been moved to the top. Prior to starting HMI Advanced, the task bar property "AlwaysOnTop" (together with task bar property "AutoHide") is deactivated. If the user, however, starts the Window desktop instead of HMI Advanced, it is guaranteed that the original user-specific task bar settings are activated. Thus, the original problem may occur again, if HMI Advanced is started manually from the desktop. * ERLde75466 TCU support: PCU Base will not boot, if no OP is found. When a PCU is operated without a directly connected OP, the waiting period for log-on of a TCU will only be 30s instead of 300s. This period of time can be configured in TCU.ini (HeadlessTCUConnectTimeout parameter). * ERLde81170 TCU support: Operating focus changeover too slow. © Siemens AG, 2005 Page 2 of 3 SINUMERIK 810D / 840Di sl / 840D / 840D sl Upgrade Instructions PCU Base Software WinXP Hotfix 08.00.00.01 16/12/2005 Installation: ============= Boot the PCU 50.3 in the WinXP service mode (desktop) and call SETUP.EXE in the Explorer or via the start menu. The system will be installed automatically, if SETUP.EXE is copied by WinXP to D:\INSTALL prior to booting, e.g. via network connection or USB stick. Reinstallation of hotfix V08.00.00.01 is possible. Reinstallation of TCU support: ================================ During start-up of a PCU 50.3 problems may occur on operating TCUs, for example when a remote diagnostics software (RCS host) is installed. In this case, reinstallation of TCU support is required. Please proceed as follows: − Deinstall "PCU Base Software Thin Client V08.00.00.00" under Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs. − Reboot the PCU 50.3 in service mode − Install TCU support V08.0 by calling setup.exe under D:\Updates\Tcubase − Install hotfix 01 by calling setup.exe under D:\Updates\Tcubase\hotfix01 − Reboot the PCU 50.3 © Siemens AG, 2005 Page 3 of 3
