InnoWave joins Alvarion www.alvarion.com -1- General The VG is Alvarion VoIP residential gateway offered for Voice application over BreezeMAX and BreezeACCESS VL. This document details the new VG features, fixed bugs and limitations of the VG software version R2J273 which applicable for SIP only New Software Features Supported The version includes the following new software features: Payphone: o Reverse polarity support o 12 KHz & 16 KHz Pulse metering V5-Signal-Info support SNMP Support VG can be managed through SNMP, the DRAP functionality can be configured only through Web Tool Cadence ring support The called VG could play customized ring signal specified in Alert-Info header instead of playing local configured ring signal. Ring signal frequency and amplitude can be configured Sending VoIP performance data to remote system The performance data of each call could be sent out to a specified syslog server. The statistics sent upon every call completion.. Spanning tree can be enabled or disabled By default it is disabled. This functionality will be disabled after upgrading from any previous version to R2J. Alvarion Ltd. InnoWave joins Alvarion www.alvarion.com -2- Fixed Bugs Throughput improvement Throughput tests results have been improved, especially in small packets (64 bytes) For PC Fax the VG must be configured with G.711 rather than T.38 Fax cannot be sent from a G.711 device to a T.38 fax. There is no automatic fallback to G711. Provision either G711 or T38 on both parties. Automatic fax fixed jitter buffer is not working. Dial Tone never expires CLI for waiting call does not work properly Changes in SIP update message are ignored 3-way call and call waiting do not work when 2 Voice Gateways are involved and at least one of them has two telephone ports. It is impossible to download software when the WAN of the Voice Gateway is in Fixed IP mode and the port is connected to a spanning tree port switch. DTMF digit “0” is sent correctly Known Problem & Limitations The Domain name must be an IP address when DRAP is enabled CCBS (Completion of Calls to Busy Subscribers) does not work with DRAP enabled Temporary CLIR does not work properly When dial tone expires, dialling is not forbidden HTTP Download supported from Downloader revision: cxc_132_4888-R2A21. Using RFC2833, pressing any digit continuously will cause hearing fragmented sound – there is no impact on functionality. Compatibility with other Alvarion Systems BreezeMAX Compatibility: The Voice gateway software version can be used in conjunction with the BreezeMAX CPE-IDU1D, CPE-ODU and CPE Si. BreezeACCESS VL Compatibility: The Voice Gateway software version can be used in conjunction with the BreezeACCESS VL CPE. Alvarion Ltd. InnoWave joins Alvarion www.alvarion.com -3- DRAP functionality is NOT supported by BreezeACCESS VL version 3.1 or older. In these versions the voice gateway should be used without DRAP (DRAP Disabled). General Notes: DRAP protocol is not supported behind a router. IP address 192.168.1.1 is virtually reserved for the LAN port of the voice gateway. Do not use this IP address on the LAN side. Also, don’t use network 192.168.1.x for any of the hosts attached to the Voice Gateway’s WAN port. The VG can be managed physically through the LAN or WAN port, using the WAN IP only. The default WAN IP after factory defaults is 192.168.254.254. It is recommended to connect through the WAN port in order to be able to configure all features. SW upgrade is done on the WAN port only. Automatic Adaptive Jitter buffer configuration is recommended over fixed jitter buffer. Upgrade Procedure Details can be found in the system manual in the SW upgrade section. For customers using SW version R2G and below, or customers who have the (x.#|x.T) dial plan: o If the VG is with the default dial plan (x.#|x.T) and there is no Ini file – please download the RFC3435dialplan.ini file to the VG after R2J upgrade. o If the dial plan was changed manually, please refer to the System Manual section 3.7.7 and adjust the dial plan according to the recommendations via web, and then upgrade to version R2J. o Customers who are using an Ini file will receive an updated Ini file from Alvarion customers’ INI files database.
