Sirius 800 — IP Interfaces Data Sheet IP routing is here – but SDI will also be around for some time to come. In the transition period, it’s essential to have a simple connection between baseband SDI and IP routing. Sirius 800 IP Interfaces do exactly that. IP Sirius 800 routers are the most powerful, versatile routers available. They offer redundancy, expansion and unique processing capability, plus the highest capacity multiviewer outputs on the market. Processing provides synchronization, delay, embedded audio processing and routing, plus clean and quiet switching. Resilience Features Dual Ethernet connections using 2022-7 provide redundant connectivity in the IP routing domain. Inside the Sirius 800 router, redundant video and audio crosspoints, controllers, PSUs and fans give the ultimate resilience. • IP Interfaces for all Sirius 800 frames: - Sirius 830 – 288x288 - Sirius 840 – 576x576 - Sirius 850 – 576x1152 expandable to 1152x1152 dual frame • All of these options are available alongside Sirius 800 IP Interfaces, which provide seamless interconnection between baseband SDI routing and IP streamed video and audio routing. SAM’s control system extends to combine seamless control of baseband and IP routing. This provides a familiar user interface to operators from a broadcast environment. Behind the scenes, IGMPv3 source specific multicast allows fast, efficient control of network connectivity. Up to 24 SDI channels (dependent on video format, and IP encoding format) • 2022-7 redundancy on IP links • Multiple transport types available (see table on page 2 for details) • Timing and synchronization - IEEE1588v2 (PTP), compliant with SMPTE-2059-2 • Supports IGMPv3 source specific multi-cast allowing transmission in multi-cast groups • Control via 40G interfaces or separate (dual redundant) 1G/10G Ethernet interface Future Proofing Any combination of IP, SDI, Advanced Hybrid Processing, and audio cards can be fitted in a Sirius 800, allowing systems to be tailored to suit all user requirements. IP modules can be added when needed, enabling users to transition to IP at a rate which suits their needs. Sirius 800 routers can route pure SDI, or hybrid SDI/IP in any combination. High capacity 25Gbps and 40Gbps Ethernet interfaces provide efficient connectivity for video transport. 25Gbps and 40Gbps IP interfaces connect directly to core IP switches, saving cost, space and power compared to 10Gbps interfaces, which may require aggregation switches to connect to core IP routers. Control SAM also provides a choice of destination based ‘make before break’ switching, or source based switching which minimises bandwidth use and makes a frame based clean switch.
