Failure to do so may result in personal injury. The Cutting Blades/ Blade Assembly is very sharp. Wear the Cut-Resistant Glove (or Kevlar, cut-resistant gloves) when handling the Blades. 3. DO NOT press or push meat into the Chute with your fingers or any other object. Doing so may cause personal injury and/or damage to the unit. 4. NEVER use fingers to scrape food away from the Tenderizer/Cuber or the Jerky Slicer while in operation. SEVERE INJURY MAY RESULT. 5. DO NOT push the Tongs or other utensils into the Blades. Damage to the product will occur. 6. NEVER LEAVE THE Tenderizer/Cuber or the Jerky Slicer UNATTENDED. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children. This appliance is NOT to be used by children. 7. NEVER use any accessories or parts from other manufacturers. Doing so will VOID YOUR WARRANTY. 8. Thoroughly clean all parts that will come into contact with food before using the Tenderizer/ Cuber or the Jerky Slicer. Wash all parts by hand and dry thoroughly. WARNING! Wear the Cut-Resistant Glove (or Kevlar, cutresistant gloves) when handling the Blades. 9. DO NOT attempt to tenderize or slice meat with bones or other hard items. Damage to the machine will occur. 10. TIE BACK loose hair and clothing, and roll up long sleeves before operating the Tenderizer/Cuber or the Jerky Slicer. REMOVE ties, rings, watches, bracelets, or other jewelry before operating. 11. DO NOT use the Tenderizer/Cuber or the Jerky Slicer while under the influence of drugs, medications or alcohol. If the unit is a stand up model, remove the Handle Thumbscrew from the Handle. Remove Handle from the Drive Shaft. CAUTION! SHARP BLADES Bearing Journals 2. Remove the Combs from the Top Housing by lifting up on Combs. 3. Remove the two Thumbscrews from the Top Housing. 4. Remove the Top Housing. WARNING! Sharp Cutting Blades exposed! Take care when handling the Blade Assembly. ALWAYS WEAR Cut-Resistant Glove(s). Handle Thumbscrew Lower Housing BLADE CHANGING INSTRUCTIONS 5. Using the Cut-Resistant Glove, carefully lift the Blade Rack Assembly from the Lower Housing by lifting on the ends opposite the gears and pulling the Blades up and out. Handle 6. Place the removed Blade Rack in a safe place to ensure that no accidental contact will be made with the sharp edges. NOTE: Store the removed Blade Rack with the Cut-Resistant Glove in the original package for future use. NEVER leave Blades exposed! Comb 7. Insert the Replacement Blade Rack Assembly into the lower housing, guiding the Drive Shaft into the Bearing Journals. Make sure the blades of the Replacement Blade Rack and gears are properly meshed together. 8. Position the Top Housing onto the Lower Housing and line up the screw holes. 9. Secure the Top Housing to the Lower Housing using the Housing Thumbscrews. Figure 1 DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! 10. Insert the Left Comb and Right Comb into the Top Housing (figure 1). Housing Thumbscrew Housing Thumbscrew Blade Rack 11. If the unit is a stand up model, install Handle onto the Drive Shaft. Secure the Handle to Drive Shaft with the Handle Thumbscrew . Disassemble the unit. 2. Wash all parts thoroughly with warm, soapy water. Rinse with clear water. A long bristle brush is recommended for cleaning the Blade Rack Assembly. WARNING! Sharp Cutting Blades exposed! Take care when handling the Blade Assembly. ALWAYS WEAR Cut-Resistant Glove(s). 3. Dry thoroughly before re-assembling. NOTE: It is highly suggested to coat all metal parts with a food-grade silicone spray (sold separately) to prevent corrosion. -3-
