“Smart Link” button on the device. 3) Go to your Android smartphone’s settings menu and turn on Screen Mirroring function to connect to Smart Dash.
4) To connect your iOS device to Smart Dash, turn on Wi-Fi in your iOS device and connect to “Smart Dash”. 5) Swipe up the bottom drawer on your iOS device and click on “AirPlay”. From the list, select Smart Dash and enable “Mirroring”.
Instructions 1) Find and clean a place on your car’s dashboard to mount Smart Dash. 2) Peel off the double-sided tape on the bottom and press the device firmly on dashboard. 3) Connect the power cable, and feed the cable in the gap between the dashboard and windshield. 4) Route the power cable to the cigarette lighter, and plug in the cigarette lighter adapter DC plug. 5) When powering on for the first time, go to “Settings” and set the date and time. 6) When in the Settings menu, press the settings button again to enter “System Settings” menu. 7) For rear-view camera and wiring installation, please refer to the enclosed Installation Voucher. Maintenance 1) Do not pour water or other liquids on the device. 2) The device does not have any user-serviceable parts. Do not try to disassemble. 3) Do not use Smart Dash for video playback while driving to avoid being distracted. FAQ Q) How do I mirror my smartphone? A) Depending on your device, iOS uses AirPlay and for Android, go to “Screen Mirroring” in your phone’s settings. 1– Power Button & Day/Night Mode (Press & hold the button to power on/off the device; press once to switch between day and night modes.) 2– Smart Link (Press to enter Screen Mirroring mode) 3– Settings (Press once to enter Settings menu) 4– Down (Press & hold the button for camera and video playback modes; press once for moving down in menu) 5– Up (Press & hold the button for camera and video playback modes; press once for moving up in menu) 6– OK Button/Recording On/Off Video Recording Interface
Q) Do I need to install a front camera for the car? A) No. Smart Dash has a built-in front camera.
LIMITED WARRANTY Merlin Products are covered by a limited one-year warranty policy. If the product suffers from a manufacturing defect, the customer will receive a replacement if claimed within 15 days of the purchase date. Otherwise, the product will be inspected for possible repair options. The product will either be repaired and returned free of charge, or replaced. All repair services past the one-year warranty period will be charged for any repairs that need to be made. If the client is located outside the UAE, or is otherwise unable to personally deliver the defective product to our service center or retail outlets, he/she may send it via post at his/her own cost. The repaired/replaced product will then be returned to the client via courier mail at Merlin’s cost, as long as the warranty period is still active.
Screen Mirroring: 1) Your smartphone must support screen mirroring function. Different brand phones have different name for this function, such as iPhone’s “AirPlay”, Samsung‘s “Screen Mirroring”, and “wireless display”. 2) To connect your Android phone to Smart Dash, press the REGISTER NOW
Q) How do I install the rear-view camera? A) Please refer to the enclosed Installation Voucher for details.
Important: This limited warranty DOES NOT COVER normal wear and tear, accidents, damage during transit, misuse, abuse or neglect. Attempting to disassemble the unit will render the warranty null and void.
