3 Modes of Operation Modes of operation A Panomera® can display its whole field of view in the same high resolution. Due to that, it is possible for the data packages during image transmission to become correspondingly large. There are three modes of operation one can use while activating a Panomera® , for an optimized, fluid image. ►►Right-click the icon of the necessary Panomera® to open its context menu ►►Choose the necessary mode of operation. The mode of operation is now shown by the according Panomera®-Icon. The mode of operation must be chosen before the Panomera® is activated. The recorded footage remains unaffected by the mode of operation, because it only affects the display in live mode.
Overview Mode The Overview-module behaves like a regular single sensor camera, and thus drastically reduces the data volume needed for image transmission. Using the overview-module is especially recommended when multiple users are working in a single system. Apart from that, the Overview-module can be used as “demo-mode”, to demonstrate Panomera® effect, by comparing it to a regular Panomera® split.
Display Overview-module ►►To only view the Overview-module, press F3. Hide Overview-module ►►Press F4, to return to multifocal-view.

4 Zoom Detail Mode In detail mode the image is always transmitted with the highest possible level of detail, and resolution. While zooming, the image is acute, without delay.
Activation Modes

Zooming into a split The zoom function all makes it possible, to zoom into an active split using the mouse wheel. ►►Move the mouse wheel forward to start the zooming process. The additional zoom window is shown at the right bottom corner of the split.
The zoom function only affects the display, recorded footage remains unchanged. The zoom functions is available in both, live display and playback-mode.
►►Move the mouse wheel back and forth, to set the necessary zoom level. How a Panomera® behaves during zooming depends on the chosen mode of operation (see pages 4-5). ►►Move the yellow frame in the additional zoom window with drag&drop, to choose the necessary part of the image. ►►Move the mouse wheel back to zoom out of the picture, and close the additional zoom window.

Proceed accordingly for the End time (D). ►►Click the Filter button (E). The Panomera Backup Filter dialog is displayed.
►►Activate the heckbox Save only visible modules, falls erforderlich. ►►Save with OK. The modules of a Panomera® multifocal sensor system, highlighted with the zoom function (visible in the display), are saved in an extra, high resolution backup along the overview. If a Panomera® multifocal sensor system is zoomed out completely before a backup, all modules (single streams) are saved in addition to the overview module. Thus you can zoom into all areas of the backup during playback, without any quality loss. If only a part is to be saved with a high resolution, one has to zoom into the area of the image.

8 Limits of the System Limits of the System After installation, commissioning, alignment and focusing of the Panomera® Multifocal Sensor System a calibration of the module transitions is required.
Activation
Note that • a Panomera® Multifocal Sensor System is always designed for a specific installation height and tilt angle (see respective data sheet).Deviations can lead to faulty module transitions.
Modes
• a recalibration of the module transitions is required whenever the distance to static objects within a scene is changed (e.g. when changing the installation height or camera inclination). In this case, carry out a calibration of the module transitions using the “Auto-Calibration” dialog for Panomera® cameras offered in PService. For more information, see the appropriate PService documentation.
Zoom
• prior to the calibration of the module transitions each camera module has to be optimally focused. For this, use the “Lens Control” dialog in the WebConfig user interface of the respective Panomera® camera module.
Display
• the automatic calibration of the module transitions is not possible for low-contrast scenes. In this case, place an object with sufficient contrast in the corresponding module area and restart the calibration. • areas with clearly differentiable scene content (clearly recognizable spatial structures, objects and textures) are preferred for the automatic calibration of the module transitions.
Automatic Wizard
• due to physical and optical properties, not all edge transitions can be corrected, since objects with different distances to the background do always have adifferent parallax offset.
Flexible Splits
• due to diurnal and seasonal changes in humidity and temperature and thus the resulting component movements or material stresses (e.g. of poles and brackets), image changes may occur mainly in more distant scene areas (e.g. changes of image section and edge transitions).
