SMD Irons The short reach of Hexacon's SMD Soldering Iron permits precise positioning and excellent access to fine line circuitry and high density boards. It is ideal for use in soldering applications that take place under the microscope. Idle temperature for SMD irons is 700F, stabilized in use by a thermal-compensating element. The SMD10 iron incorporates Hexacon's exclusive Posi-Ground feature which ensures less than two milli-volts leakage to comply with MIL-equivalent manufacturing specs. Posi-Ground irons are completely safe for use on voltage sensitive components. FEATURES: • Unique thermal compensating element delivers steady temperatures. • Miniature SMD tips can be used t solder and desolder a wide range of standard SMD packages, including DIP's, leadless packages, chip resistors/capacitors and MELF's. • Hexacon Quad tips can be used on both leaded and leadless quad packs. • An experimental kit consisting of an SMD iron and a variety of SMD tips and adapters is available. • Custom iron and tip combinations are available upon request.
