1. Edge Storage Function 1-1. What is the Edge Storage function This is a function to record the video and audio on the microSD memory card installed on the memory card slot of the camera by the alarm detection result such as network disconnection, etc. Refer to the Installation Manual accompanying the camera for installing of the memory card to the camera.
1-2. Precautions when using the Edge Storage function
Insertion and replacement of the memory card should be performed when the power of the camera is turned off. Also, always stop the recording of Edge Storage before turning off the power of the camera.
Stop the recording of Edge Storage when turning off the power of the camera when the memory card is inserted.
Initialize (format) the memory card before using a memory card.
It may take some time to search or display when there are more than 500 videos recorded on the memory card.
It may take some time for the playback to start when the volume of the recorded video file is large.
New recording will be stopped when the recording volume has reached close to the maximum when [Enable cyclic storage] is not selected. Recording will be overwritten from the oldest one when [Enable cyclic storage] is selected.
The video or audio may be interrupted duet to recording data becoming very large depending on the setting of the video codec. Confirm the video codec setting and environment before operation.
The frame rate for the monitor image of the viewer and the operability may decrease when recording video or still picture.
Interval of the still pictures actually being recorded may become longer than what is set.
We assume no responsibility for any damage caused by destruction of record data, etc.
Memory card has a limited life span. It may not record correctly when used for a long period of time, so please replace with a new memory card for such a case.
Memory card has a limited life span and usage, and constant recording affects the life span of memory card more than the event recording, so it is recommended to operate with event recording.
1-3. Usable memory card Use the microSDHC card that is CLASS 10 and compatible with operation guarantee temperature of 85 degrees Celsius or higher when recording with the Edge Storage function. The recording may not be performed correctly when microSDHC card not compatible with this condition is used. This does not guarantee the operation of all the microSDHC cards compatible to this condition. Operation of this network camera is confirmed with the SanDisk Extreme Series microSD memory card.

2. Recommended Setting when Using the Edge Storage Function It is required to take caution on the setting for the video codec, etc., so the camera performance will not affect the recorded video when using the Edge Storage function. The following table is a guide for setting the video codec so the camera performance will not affect the recorded video. However, it still may affect the recorded video even if it is the recommended setting depending on the installed environment of the camera or the condition of the usage, so perform sufficient test before starting the operation. Reduce the image size or increase the frame rate or the bit rate to record for long hours.

3. How to Use Edge Storage There are 2 types of the Edge Storage function, the constant recording that will constantly record in the memory card, and the event recording that will record based on the schedule of the camera or the trigger input. Memory card has a limited life span and usage with constant recording affects the life span of memory card more than the event recording, so it is recommended to operate with event recording.
3-1.
Initialization of memory card Click [Format SD memory card] in [SD memory card] under [Edge storage].
4
3-2. Time setting of the camera 1.
