SOLDERING IRONS IN YOUR TOOL KIT 2—25W Soldering Irons 1—8 oz Roll of Lead Free Solder PURPOSE  A soldering iron is a hand tool used in soldering. It supplies heat to melt solder so that it can flow into the joint between two workpieces usually wire. A soldering iron is composed of a heated metal tip and an insulated handle SAFETY RULES  Always wear eye protection and read all provided warnings and instructions  Never touch the element or metal part of the soldering iron  Hold wires to be heated with pliers or clamps  Clean the tip with a wet sponge during use and keep your work area clean  Always return the soldering iron to its stand when not in use. Never put it        ADST down on the workbench Turn unit off and unplug when not in use and always store tool in a safe and secure location Use lead -free solders and only solder in a well ventilated area Always wash your hands with soap and water after soldering Do not use soldering irons that have obvious damage to body, cable or plug Keep the soldering station free of electrical cables to prevent damage from the heated tip Know where your nearest fire extinguisher is and how to use it Immediate place any burns under cold water for 15 minutes
