Advantage of SxS Memory Card versus Consumer Card High Speed High-speed data transfer up to 5x faster than consumer card Featuring data reading speed up to 800Mbps*1(Chart 1), SxS memory card can transfer large HD files rapidly to PC or non-linear video editing systems. When shooting with a Sony XDCAM EX camcorder, SxS memory card ensures compatibility guarantee that all your camcorder features will work seamlessly and ef ciently. However, when using a consumer card, there may be camcorder limitations that include ‘over cranking/slow motion’ (Chart 2).

Media Lifetime Indicator Lifetime indicator displays on camcorder (sxs-1 only) The remaining media rewrite cycles can be displayed in the monitor of XDCAM EX camcorders and a noti cation will be shown when SxS-1 memory card is approaching its end-of-life. (When recorded at full capacity one time per day, SxS-1 will continue to use for approximately five years when using a PMWEX1R or PMW-350.) This function adds a sense of security, when shooting with SxS-1, that is not supported by consumer cards (Chart 3).

High Reliability Salvage function for xdcam ex camcorder If content is damaged by power loss or memory disconnection during recording, a unique salvage function serves to restore content on SxS memory cards. (Note: There is no warranty for content restoration). Consumer cards do not support this function. In addition, SxS memory card specifies product reliability that offers users the freedom to shoot in harsh conditions and environments. On the other hand, it is unknown with consumer cards (Chart 3). *1 Read speed measured with benchmark software.
