Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. 1.2 SUMMARY A. This Section includes receptacles, switches, finish plates, cord reels, clocks, hand dryers, gymnasium large venue laser projector, speakers and associated public address components. 1.3 DEFINITIONS A. GFCI: Ground-fault circuit interrupter. 1.4 SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: For each product specified. B. Shop Drawings: Legends for receptacles and switch plates. C. Samples: For devices and device plates for color selection and evaluation of technical features. D. Maintenance Data: For materials and products to include in maintenance manuals specified in Division 1. 1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Electrical Components, Devices, and Accessories: Listed and labeled as defined in NFPA 70, Article 100, by a testing agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction. B. Comply with NEMA WD 1. C. Comply with NFPA 70. 1.6 COORDINATION A. Receptacles for Owner-Furnished Equipment: Match plug configurations. 1. Cord and Plug Sets: Match equipment requirements. Straight-Blade Receptacles: 20 amp, 125 volts, 2 pole, 3 wire, U ground slot, Heavy-Duty Specification Grade. Ivory in color. Receptacles located in lower level of auditorium shall be brown in color. B. GFCI Receptacles: Feed-through type, with integral NEMA WD 6, Configuration 5-20R duplex receptacle, arranged to protect connected downstream receptacles on same circuit. Design units for installation in a 2-3/4-inch- deep outlet box without an adapter. Heavy-Duty Specification Grade. Ivory in color. C. Straight-Blade Tamper Resistant Receptacles: 20 amp, 125 volts, 2 pole, 3 wire, U ground slot, Heavy-Duty Specification Grade. Dual mechanism shutter system to help prevent insertion of foreign objects. Ivory in color. D. Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor Receptacles (TVSS): Designated on drawings as SS. 1. Modes of protection: L-G, L-N, N-G. 2. Each mode protected by two MOV’s. 3. UL protection level of 500V in each mode with maximum clamping voltage of 420V. 4. Blue finish 5. LED on face lighted when protection is intact. 6. Meets UL Standard 1449 second edition. 7. NEMA 5-20R, 20 amp, 125 volt. 8. Arrow Hart #535OS or equal. E. Weather-Resistant Receptacles: Outdoor grade, UL Listed weather-resistant to comply with Section 406.8 of the 2008 National Electrical Code. Constructed with UV stabilized engineering thermoplastic for high cold impact resistance. 2.3 COMBINATION USB CHARGER & TAMPER RESISTANT RECEPTACLES A. Duplex Tamper Resistant Receptacle: 20 amp, 125 volts, 2 pole, 3 wire, U ground slot, NEMA 5-20R. B. 15.5 watt power supply for charging of mobile phones and tablets. C. One 5Vdc Type-A USB port to charge Type-A compatible mobile devices. D. One 5Vdc Type-C USB port to charge USB Type-C compatible mobile devices. E. Plug Tail termination. F. Description: Matching, locking-type plug and receptacle body connector; NEMA WD 6 configurations L5-20P and L5-20R, heavy-duty grade. 1. Body: Nylon with screw-open cable-gripping jaws and provision for attaching external cable grip. 2. External Cable Grip: Woven wire-mesh type made of high-strength galvanized-steel wire strand, matched to cable diameter, and with attachment provision designed for corresponding connector. 2.6 CORD AND PLUG SETS A. Description: Match voltage and current ratings and number of conductors to requirements of equipment being connected. 1. Cord: Rubber-insulated, stranded-copper conductors, with Type SOW-A jacket; with green-insulated grounding conductor and equipment-rating ampacity plus a minimum of 30 percent. 2. Plug: Nylon body and integral cable-clamping jaws. Match cord and receptacle type for connection. 2.7 FLOOR SERVICE OUTLETS A. Type: Modular, flush-type, dual-service units suitable for wiring method used. B. Compartments: Barrier separates power from voice and data communication cabling. C. Service Plate: Rectangular, round, die-cast aluminum or solid brass with satin finish as indicated on drawings. D. Power Receptacle: NEMA WD 6 Configuration 5-20R, gray finish, unless otherwise indicated. E. Voice and Data Communication Outlet: Two modular, keyed, color-coded, RJ-45 jacks for UTP cable complying with requirements in Section 271500 "Communications Horizontal Cabling. 2.8 SWITCHES A. Snap Switches, 120/277v: Quiet slow make, slow break design, toggle handle with totally enclosed case, rated 20 amp, specification grade. Provide matching two pole, 3 way, and 4 way switches. B. Grounding Combination Switches: Rated 20 amp, specification grade, two single pole switches. For use where two switches shall be installed in existing single gang device box to accommodate multi-level switching. C. Pilot Light Switch: 277v, 20a Single pole, with neon-lighted handle, illuminated when switch is "off” – (light on with load off). D. Single and Double-Pole Switches: Comply with DSCC W-C-896F and UL 20. E. All switches (other than Auditorium) shall be Ivory in color. F. All switches in lower level of Auditorium to be brown in color. 2.9 WALL PLATES A. Single and combination types match corresponding wiring devices. For receptacles, provide spring loaded gasket doors. For receptacles with other than 120 volts, inscribe plate with voltage available. B. Auditorium wall plates to be stylish, decorative plates. 1. Provide all matching plates with openings at required. 2.10 INDUSTRIAL POWER CORD REEL WITH RECEPTACLES A. Description: 1. Body: Thermoplastic, fully enclosed with retractable cord reel. 2. Voltage: 120VAC 3. Cord Length: 40 feet of 12/3 SJTW cable. 4. NEMA Plug configuration 5-15P 5. (3) NEMA 5-15R receptacles on cord ending outlet box. 6. Finish: Black cord and reel. 7. Hubbell # HBLC40123TT B. Cord reels shall be mounted from or supported from structure. C. Cord reels shall be provided with a minimum of 40 feet of cord. D. Provide a GFI receptacle flush in ceiling tile for cord reel feed. E. Cord reels shall be provided with larger gage wire and special receptacles where indicated on the drawings. 2.11 CLOCKS A. Description: 1. 12” Black metal case. 2. Shatter-proof, side-molded, transparent polycarbonate lens. 3. 24V wired. 4. Sapling Model #SAM-1BS-12R-4. B. Wire clocks back to existing head-end system in Telecor PA rack in building. C. Provide 24v power supply to accommodate additional new speakers. Locate either locally in new addition or at location of Telecor head-end. Wire to nearest 120v, non switched receptacle circuit. D. Connect new clock circuit to adjacent existing clock for time correction. E. Contact local District Vendor North East Technologies, Scott Tripp at 315-475-5161 for Telecor system support. 2.12 SPEAKERS AND PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM COMPONENTS A. Hand dryers shall be surface mounted and be ADA compliant. C. Top surface of dryer shall be sloped downwards towards front of unit. D. Motor shall be 8000 RPM at rated load. E. Motor and dual heating elements shall have internal resetting automatic thermal protection. The heating element shall be protected by an automatic, resetting circuit breaker mounted to the heating element frame. F. The dryer shall operate automatically from IR sensor when hands are placed in sensor zone and will shut off when hands are removed from sensor zone. The infra-red sensor shall be protected by a heavy duty polycarbonate lens frequently match-tinted to filter out ambient light. G. The entire hand dryer shall be U.L. listed. H. Install wall plates when painting is complete. C. Arrangement of Devices: Unless otherwise indicated, mount flush, with long dimension vertical, and grounding terminal of receptacles on top. Group adjacent switches under single, multigang wall plates. D. Protect devices and assemblies during painting. 3.2 IDENTIFICATION A. Comply with Division 26 Section "Electrical Identification." 1. Switches: Where three or more switches are ganged, and elsewhere as indicated, identify each switch with approved legend engraved on wall plate. 2. Receptacles: Identify panelboard and circuit number from which served. Use machineprinted, pressure-sensitive, abrasion-resistant label tape on face of plate and durable wire markers or tags within outlet boxes. 3.3 CONNECTIONS A. Connect wiring device grounding terminal to branch-circuit equipment grounding conductor. B. Tighten electrical connectors and terminals according to manufacturer’s published torquetightening values. If manufacturers torque values are not indicated, use those specified in UL 486A and UL 486B. 3.4 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL A. Test wiring devices for proper polarity and ground continuity. Test GFCI operation with both local and remote fault simulations according to manufacturer's written instructions. C. Replace damaged or defective components. 3.5 CLEANING A.
