HIGH-RESOLUTION 400-TV LINE MACHINE
SR-9090U
Affordable high-density recording of up to 960 hours and high resolution of more than 400 lines with VHS tape Video surveillance is an essential part of any security installation and clear, high-resolution * images are the key to its effectiveness. Now, with JVC’s SR-9090U, you can get the high-quality images you need without giving up the low cost and easy availability of VHS cassettes. That’s because this rugged, high-density recorder has been designed to take advantage of JVC’s Super VHS ET (Expansion Technology) — a breakthrough technology that makes it possible to record up to 960 hours of high-quality S-VHS-equivalent images with resolution of more than 400 lines on an HG VHS tape. Housed in a rugged diecast aluminum chassis, the SR-9090U also features up to 6 hours of audio recording, series recording, alarm/sensor recording, automatic recording check function, tape end buzzer, operation lock function and an optional RS-232C interface for integrated operation with a computer.
High-Resolution Recording Flexibility *
High-resolution recording
Exclusive JVC Super VHS ET (Expansion Technology) allows you to record high-resolution S-VHS signals on HG VHS tapes for horizontal resolution of more than 400 lines (even in the color mode). Images are clear and sharp enough for accurate surveillance and since expensive S-VHS tapes are not required, running costs are no higher than with a conventional S-VHS recorder. Better yet, this high-resolution capability dramatically improves the quality of high-density recordings and allows you to analyze the development of a situation in much greater detail.
960-hour high-density recording with a 120-minute tape Recording times are selectable from 2 (SP mode)/6 (EP mode) hours, 24/48/72/120/168/240/480/960 hours for normal timelapse recording and 24/48/72/120/168/240/480/960 hours for High-Density recording.
Timer-recording function Up to 8 programs can be set for daily, weekly, or weekday timerrecording. You can also set the timer to record on up to 16 specific days throughout the year — such as holidays.

Time/date generator with memory backup Date, month, year, hours, minutes and seconds can be superimposed on the image during recording. You can also display the number of alarms, alarm time, and the number of power failures on a monitor. Powerful memory backup batteries ensure that date/time data is retained for five years in the event of a power loss.
Versatile Alarm/Sensor Recording
System Flexibility
Alarm recording function
Series recording
When an alarm signal is input in the High-Density or Timelapse Record mode, the VCR automatically switches to the realtime 2-hour or 6-hour recording mode for continuous, high-quality recording of the alarm event. You can set the alarm recording duration time manually or choose from 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 120 or 180 seconds, or to tape end. An alarm cue signal is automatically recorded at the start point of the alarm recording so you can quickly access alarm recording points with the alarm search function.
Built-in series input/output connectors allow you to configure a variety of sophisticated timelapse surveillance systems using the SR-9090U. Connect several VCRs in series and automatically switch recording from one unit to the next without interrupting the recording. This enables you to extend your recording capabilities indefinitely or take advantage of shorter recording modes (2, 6 or 24 hours) for longer periods.
Noiseless still, field advance and reverse play
Sensor recording Whenever an alarm signal is input in the Stop mode, the Record mode is automatically engaged.
For a closer review of recordings, the SR-9090U offers still playback and field advance together with reverse play.
Camera switching function
Alarm/power loss memory To help you pinpoint and track critical problem periods, the dates and times of up to 8 alarm inputs or 4 power losses (failures) can be displayed on-screen. Added security is provided by a highly reliable standby power backup security system for automatic re-start of recording as soon as power is restored after a power failure.
The SR-9090U is equipped with a camera select signal output that synchronizes camera switching with recording intervals. Since switching is performed during pauses in recording, continuous coverage is assured, even when using multiple cameras. Duration of the camera select signal output is selectable from 1 field and 1 frame.
Optional RS-232C interface
Tape position search functions You can automatically search the start of an alarm recording or search for a recording made at a specified date and time. You can also scan all alarm recordings on a tape: the start of each alarm recording is automatically played back for several seconds.
To meet the requirements of today’s most sophisticated surveillance systems, the SR-9090U features an optional RS-232C interface (SAK97U) for direct computer connection. This permits easy integration into a centralized, computer-controlled security system.
Recording with external activation signal Recording start/stop can be controlled externally by inputting a VCR activation signal.
