Addendum for DVR1C1161 This addendum must be used by the DVR1C1161 Installation Instructions 3122 165 2290x
Support of multiplexers in firmware version 1.10C On the DVR1C you can connect only one camera or multiple cameras via a multiplexer. The DVR1C is compatible with a number of multiplexers. To use all features of the DVR1C in combination with a multiplexer the specified protocol of this multiplexer must be implemented in the DVR1C. This protocol (for detection of the camera number) is required to view images via the web software and to make movie files on the compact flash card. For all the other DVR1C features the multiplexer protocol is not required. In version 1.10C software the following MULTIPLEXER settings are available: OFF: Select if only one camera is connected to the DVR. MAKE OF MULTIPLEXER: The following multiplexers are tested and compatible with this release: - BOSCH LTC2682/90 & LTC2642/50 representing the LTC2600 range for PAL and NTSC - Kalatel CBR-16CDTx, for PAL and NTSC (see “Kalatel CBR-16CDTx support” on next page) - DM SLDX16C, for PAL and NTSC - Robot MV99P, for NTSC - Pelco MX4016CD, for NTSC - Sanyo MPX-CD162, for NTSC - ATV DPX16m & DPX9m, for PAL and NTSC - Panasonic WJ-FS616, for NTSC UNKNOWN: Select if your multiplexer is not listed and you don’t have a custom code. In this mode you can not view images on the web software and you can not make movie files on the CF card (reason for this is that the camera numbers are unknown). CUSTOM: Select if you have a custom code for your multiplexer model. In the CUSTOM MULTIPLEXER menu, you can fill-in a custom code for a particular model of multiplexer. Consult you sales representative for information on these codes.
Advised maximum IPS range setting The following maximum IPS record settings are recommended: 1) Single video stream we recommend to use the maximum IPS range of 50IPS for PAL and 60IPS for NTSC. 2) Multiplexed video stream we strongly recommend to use the maximum IPS range of 25 IPS for PAL and 30 IPS for NTSC. The reason for this is that the multiplexers we have tested (including the Bosch LTC2600 family) are not capable to offer 50 (PAL) or 60 (NTSC) different camera images per second on the recording output. If the DVR1C is set to 50/60IPS it will record the same camera images a number of times, so that disk capacity is used in an inefficient way.
Kalatel CBR-16CDTx support For this multiplexer the “field code line” setting (in System Setting Menu) must be set on 11. In recording speeds above 12.5 IPS we see that this multiplexers drops sometimes some images. In order to guarantee to record all images we recommend using a maximum recording speed of 12 IPS.
Media player for .MOV movie files On the Compact Flash card you can copy movie files which are stored in a .MOV file format. You have to use a standard Quick Time player to playback this MOV file on your PC. This media player is free downloadable from the internet. We recommend downloading the free Apple QuickTime movie player http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone/ from the internet.
Snap shot and Archiving feature in V1.10C In version 1.10C onwards a Snap Shot and Archive feature is introduced in the web-based browser:
Important requirements to make these features available • These features are only supported if you use Sun Java V1.4 or higher. The user with Microsoft VM can use all standard features but not the Snapshot and Archiving feature. Messages will pop-up to remind the user to update to Sun Java V1.4 or higher. • A “Signed Applet” is used to raise the authority level in order to access local hard disk only for this application. When you open your Internet Explorer and enter the network IP address the DVR Login page appears with a Security Warning window (see below). Only when you select “Yes” or “Always” (accept this “Signed Applet”) these new features will be available. If you select “No” the Snap Shop and Archive feature will be disabled and can not be used.
• The system is automatically searching for the VM (Virtual Machine) version used on the PC. If he founds Sun Java VM the software will use this version. However the use can select in the Internet Explorer that he wants to use Microsoft VM even when also Sun Java is available on his PC. The system doesn’t start-up when the user select Microsoft VM while the software is detecting the Sun Java VM. The setting from Microsoft VM to Sun Java VM can been changed in Tools, Internet Options, Advanced. Select the Java VM check box and deselect the Microsoft VM. Press “Apply” and “OK”. • When a unit will be updated with this V1.10C in the field we strongly recommend to Erase all video on the DVR1C to start with a clean hard disk to ensure a proper working of these new features.
Snap shot feature The Snap shot features allows the user to save or print-out recorded or live still images. The still images will be saved in a .JPG file format. Move the cursor to the image screen and click the right button on the mouse to invoke the pop-up menu.
Select “Snapshot”, the below dialog box will be shown on the screen for user to select “Print Out” or “Save to file” function. The system will capture the image which shown on the screen at the time when user select the “Snapshot”. The user can check the “Time Stamp” box to enable the time stamp on the video image and the resolution can be selected. Click on OK to proceed or Cancel to return.
Video Archiving The Archive button is only enabled in the playback mode. Press “Archive” button in the playback mode and the below dialog box will appear on screen.
The user can select the following items: - Camera – Select the camera number to be archived - Start Date and Time - Default this is the time corresponding on the moment pressing the “Archive” button - Duration – The duration of the archive can be in minutes and seconds - Timestamp – Check the box to enable timestamp - Resolution can be selected - File name – Enter the file name in .mov format. The Archive allows user to archive the recorded video to local HDD as a .mov file only during playback mode. Press OK to start archiving the video to local HDD. While start archiving, the selected channel will be shown in full screen. A dialog with process bar will be displayed on screen to show the archived percentage and also there is a Stop button for the user to terminate it at any time. During archiving, the other function buttons will be disabled except the Stop archiving function. Due to the 2GB size limitation of the movie file, the system will show warning and automatically terminate the archiving while the file size reaches 2 GB.
