Technical Sheet: How to operate the AV equipment in the Lecture Theatre rev 02 17/04/2015 To turn on the main system (projector) • • Touch the text at the bottom of the control panel: “Touch Here to Start” to wake the system. Select the device to be displayed on the touch screen (Blu-Ray DVD; Visualiser; Computer; Laptop Inputs; wePresent Input). Computer (installed in cabinet) • • • • • • Ensure the Computer is switched on (button on front of Computer base in left AV cabinet rack). Select Computer from the left menu. Log on to Computer using the Visitor account: Username: .\Visitor / PASSWORD: Greenwich2012 Staff can also log on using their own account (if required). There are 3 USB ports on the left of the monitor and 2 in the front of the PC for memory devices. The main system volume can be adjusted using the + and - symbols on the touch panel. Visualiser (hard copy prints and small objects via the digital projector) • • Select Visualiser from the left menu: the camera in the head of the Visualiser and lamp will switch on. Place the object to be displayed to the projection screen under the Visualiser and use the on screen menu controls as needed. Laptop connection • • • • • • Connect the laptop’s external monitor output (15-pin ‘D-shape’ connector) to the trailing HDMI/VGA cable. The HDMI cable includes Audio; VGA has a separate Audio cable. Select Computer from the left hand menu. Select Laptop/HDMI or Laptop/VGA from the on screen menu. Enable the external monitor (VGA) output on your laptop, e.g. FN+F7 (key combination may vary). For laptop audio (if required): connect the laptop audio/headphone output to the trailing audio cable (mini-jack connector). The laptop’s own volume may also need to be adjusted. The main system volume can be adjusted using the + and - symbols on the touch panel. Blu-Ray DVD or audio CD playback • • • • Select Blu-Ray DVD from the left menu. Insert DVD or CD into the DVD player in the AV cabinet-left side. Use the touch screen controls to navigate the DVD menu. Volume can be adjusted using the + and - symbols on the touch panel. Have attendees follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the appropriate app for their device, then they can connect to the session using the IP Address located on the bottom left of the screen and the Session Code as the password displayed at the top right corner of the screen. System Shutdown • When your session is finished press the System Shutdown button on the bottom left menu. This will put the system into sleep mode, DO NOT switch off the computer. Camera Controls • • • • Select Camera Controls from the right hand menu. There are 3 preset views. Zoom controls are below the preset options. Directional controls are to the right of the preset menu. Room Controls The main lighting system within this lecture theatre is controlled from the top section of the lighting panel. This lecture theatre is fitted with red, green and blue LED lighting panels surrounding the projection screen, the controls are located on the bottom of the lighting panel. Wireless Networking Wireless network is available within this room, connect to eduroam using your University e-mail address and password.
