Thank you purchasing an EnDuraLast starter from Here are some basic procedural tips you will need to follow for a safe and successful installation. 1) Make sure the ignition switch is set to “OFF”. 2) Disconnect the battery electrically from the bike. Remove both positive and negative wire leads from the battery posts, so as to prevent possible short while installing and connecting the starter. 3) Now would be a good time to put the battery on a charger, to recharge battery to full power. Make sure the battery is topped up with electrolyte / distilled water to the correct level. 4) Remove the starter housing or starter cover. 5) Remove the positive wire lead going to the solenoid of the old starter. Note; pay attention to how tight this nut was for when re-installing new starter. 6) Loosen the two bolts that hold the starter to the engine. 7) Remove the lower bolt (by hand ?); Holding the starter in one hand, remove the upper bolt. The starter should now be free to be removed from the bellhousing. 8) Clean all the wire connections with emory board or sandpaper to ensure good electrical conductivity; this includes the starter / solenoid connection, and the two battery leads as well as the battery posts. Reverse the above steps to re-install your new EnDuraLast 1.2Kw cranking torque starter. Be careful NOT to over tighten the positive lead on the new starter solenoid.
