Read all instructions before use. Do not touch hot surfaces; use handles or knobs. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug or appliance in water or any other liquid. Close supervision is necessary when appliance is used near children. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the Steam Cleaner to cool before putting on or taking off parts. The Steam Cleaner only works when plugged in and the power switch is on. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries and invalidate any warranty you may have. Do not use outdoors, or on or near direct heat sources Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces or come into contact with naked heat source. Do not overfill. Do not use this appliance for any use other than the intended use. This appliance is for household use only. Liquid or steam should not be directed towards equipment containing electrical components such as interiors of ovens This appliance is an attended appliance, and as such should never be left ON or whilst hot without adult supervision. The jet of steam emitted can be very powerful; so make sure it is not directed at persons, pets or delicate items. The Steam Cleaner’s boiler should be filled with water only after the unit is disconnected from the power supply. Use the beaker and funnel to fill so as not to spill water over the controls – if a spillage occurs, wipe dry before use. The Steam Cleaner takes a few minutes to reach operating temperature. During this time, the Steam Cleaner body will become hot but not totally effective. You may hear the Steam Cleaner’s heating system, this is entirely normal and not a cause for product returns. ALWAYS empty the water from the Steam Cleaner after use. NEVER tightly wind the power cord when not in use. ALWAYS extend the power cord in use to its fullest extent ALWAYS handle the cap and tools with care after use, they remain HOT.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
BEFORE USE Check that the voltage of the appliance corresponds to the mains voltage of your home. This appliance is fitted with an earth for extra safety. Remove all packaging from the Steam Cleaner. USING YOUR NEW Steam Cleaner Firstly, check that you have unpacked all the items in the box and safely removed all the packaging. Ensure the Steam Cleaner is unplugged, unwind the entire power cord. NEVER use the Steam Cleaner with the power cord partially wound or otherwise hanked.
DO NOT FILL WITH WATER ABOVE THE MAX BAR VISIBLE INSIDE WHEN THE CAP IS REMOVED
If you live in a hard water area, use distilled or filtered water. Do NOT use boiled water.
Tighten cap firmly
Check the schematic below to determine how the accessories fit on the Steam Cleaner and/or on each other.
The Flexible hose is fitted to the Steam Cleaner like this:
In use, hold this part only. The hose/tool assembly can rotate with the eyeball connector on the steam nozzle. Now you can switch the power supply on! When the red light goes out…then you can start steaming! This red light cycles on and off in use as the thermostat automatically regulates the boiler temperature. In use, do NOT hold these parts
The Concentrator and Multi-Tool fit to the Steam Cleaner like this:
Press the steam trigger, use the lock-on button so that you don’t have to keep the button depressed. Illustration of correct handling of the steam cleaner in use – hold by handle only
On the first use of each steaming session, there may be a small delay between pressing the steam trigger and steam coming out. Additionally, there may be some expulsion of water droplets (condensate remaining in the steam system or tools, expelled by the steam pressure). This is normal, not a cause for concern or return. It will stop after a few moments. If you see water expelled from the end….keep the steam trigger depressed until it stops and the steam starts. The light goes out when it’s ready to steam, and may cycle on and off in use…this is normal, no cause for concern or return. When you finish, switch the power supply OFF, and keep the steam trigger fully depressed to exhaust all the pressure from within. When all the hissing has stopped, then you can remove the cap (press down and turn anticlockwise). It WILL be hot, as will the tools, so handle with care. Ensure that you empty any remaining water from the boiler each time. Do NOT leave water inside.
HELP! I THINK MY NEW Steam Cleaner HAS GONE WRONG. I SWITCH IT ON BUT NOTHING HAPPENS Is the plug connected correctly? Have you got water in the boiler? If the Steam Cleaner is hot, then the internal safety device may have activated, so allow the appliance to cool before trying again. Adding cool water to the boiler will accelerate the cooling down process. But if you think there is hot water, depress the steam trigger first to ensure the pressure inside is equalized.
JUST WATER/DROPS COME OUT Keep the steam trigger depressed so that the steam pressure expels any residual water from the internal system and from within the attachments from last time. The pressure will clear the system and steam will come.
I CAN’T GET THE CAP OFF The cap has a safety device, so you cannot remove it without exhausting the pressure from within. Once you have finished, switch the power OFF but keep the steam trigger fully depressed until all hissing has stopped. Then you can take the cap off – NOTE that it will be hot! Remember to press down and turn – clockwise to tighten, anti-clockwise to loosen
THE BODY IS HOT, BUT NOTHING AT ALL COMES OUT This could be a blockage. Firstly switch power supply OFF. Secondly, remove all tools. Check steam nozzle visually for any blockages, use a pin if need be. Thirdly, switch power supply ON. Check each tool one by one to determine which tool is blocked.
WHERE CAN I GET REPLACEMENT TOOLS? Please use the order form enclosed or seek the Steam Cleaner Spares section on our internet shop, accessed from our website www.teamuki.com or you can call us on 0121 693 9221
I LIVE IN A HARD WATER AREA, MY KETTLE ALWAYS FURS UP; WILL MY STEAM CLEANER BE OK? If you’re in a hard water area, do not use tap water because the steam mechanism of the Steam Cleaner will fail and this is not covered by any warranty you may think you have. Always use distilled or de-ionized water, or filtered water. Do not under any circumstances use boiled water (this will in fact accelerate failure of the steaming mechanism).
