By using game design & development as the teaching vehicle, GAME:IT’s learning objectives were designed to align with ISTE. NETS, 21st Century Skills and your state’s technology & programming standards. Using appropriate, accessible digital tools for research and learning Technical skills related to software development, computer programming & graphic design It’s all about learning. Communication & collaboration as an individual and part of a team Creative, innovative & critical thinking Using engineering, physics & mathematical concepts critical to game development Post-secondary and career options & resources www.teq.com/stemfuse GAME:IT High Introduction is a beginner’s programming & design course. You and your students DO NOT need experience in programming or graphic design. We have written our game projects using Construct 2, a powerful ground breaking HTML5 game creator designed specifically for 2D games. It allows anyone to build games — no coding required! Plus, these games can be published to any website and played on any device with internet access. Students will then form game development teams and design original games. There will be many checkpoints and assignments along the way as the students follow the same steps game development companies follow when bringing a new game to market. This will give them a “real-life” look at that process while adding to their game design portfolio. 1. Technical skills related to 2. Using appropriate, accessible 3. Using engineering, physics & 4.
