With over 10 years of professional experience working on tube amplifiers, you can be assured that your amp will be serviced right the first time. We currently accept work on all point-topoint and hand wired amplifiers. We also accept some older PCB amplifiers. Examples of these are amps are early Marshall JCM 800's and older Ampegs. The turn around here is usually around a week with the exception being severely damaged amps or if I need to hunt down some oddball part. All equipment that we service will receives the following: Full interior and exterior inspection for damage Full cleaning of chassis and interior components and electronics Complete bench test to check for damaged or out of calibration parts All equipment will be fitted with 3 prong line cords if not factory or previously installed ** Full power burn in after tube replacement or modification Feel free to call us if you have any questions about anything relating to amps, parts or modifications. ** This modification is NOT optional and must be performed to any amplifier we service at a flat rate of $10.00 Modifications Summit Amplifiers has developed several standard modifications for Fender and Marshall amplifiers. these mods are non -invasive and completely reversible. In other words, we don't turn your amps chassis into something resembling swiss cheese. Though I am only listing my standard mods, custom variations are possible to suit your particular needs with little or no change in price. Please note that not all of these mods can or should be performed on all amplifiers. Please contact me for pricing and inquiries about the feasibility of these modifications before sending me your amp. Dumble based Mods: $500.00 Basically this mod involves gutting your Fender amplifier and converting it into an Overdrive Special or Steel String Singer. Will it sound like a Dumble? Probably not, but it's as close as you'll get without coughing up $15k for the real thing! Summit/McIntyre Mod: $400.00 This is my spin on the McIntyre mod that appeared in Guitar Player magazine several years ago. I perform the standard mod that's posted on the schematics page but have added several features including a buffered effects loop, remote switching, and master volume. Summit 800 Mod: $300.00 This mod was developed to substantially enhance the usability of the clean channel and beef up the tone of the high gain channel of 2203/2204 master volume Marshall amps. This will give the amp a looser more open feel while substantially increasing the gain. At high preamp levels the tone is thick and chunky without the buzzy distortion. Miscellaneous Switching mods and component upgrades: $45.00 Component upgrades for reduced noise and/or increased reliability Gain boost and/or tone enhancement http://web.archive.org/web/20010304143812/www.summitamps.com/servicemain.html 9/04/2009 Untitled Document Page 2 of 2 Pentode/Triode switching Fixed bias/Cathode bias switching Dual Rectifier switching Conversion of heater circuit to run on DC Effects loop additions (may require drilling) Rates & Policies Drop Off Fee: Bench Rate: Pick-Up/Delivery fee: $45.00 $45.00 per hour, billed per quarter hour $20.00 within 30 mile radius We currently accept payment by cash, check, money order and COD. Until recently we've pretty much had an open door policy on repair work. Recently, we've had problems with several customers which has resulted in our implementation of several new policies. We do not accept any commercial equipment that has had the serial number removed or defaced. There will be no exceptions to this policy!
