Model 251 (Edco SHP Series)
Single Phase Filter, 120 VAC or 240 VAC The ASCO Model 251 hybrid design exhibits performance levels unattainable with simple “shunt type” protectors. The two active clamp stages, large inductor and shunt capacitance effectively halt high rate-of-rise surge waveforms, thus preventing initial voltage overshoot. Flexibility of installation is another design feature of Model 251. The protector first and second stages are electrically separate (line side) for use in jurisdictions that require a line filter between stages. In addition, the first stage provides protection from MAIN NEUTRAL to GND as well as MAIN LINE to GND. This is an often overlooked feature which becomes significant in locales where NEUTRAL must be kept separate from earth ground inside the cabinet.

Model 258 (Edco SHA-1250)
120 VAC — Single Phase — Modular The ASCO Model 258 is an upgraded version of the ASCO Model 254. Model 258 also incorporates two LEDs for failure indication in a modular package (Utilizes 12 pin Beau connector). The hardwire terminal base (ASCO Model SHABA, ordered separately) accommodates all wiring and the protection module is designed for easy replacement. The footprint of the SHABA is the same as Model 254. This makes retrofitting older cabinets easy because internal wire lengths do not have to be adjusted. Model 258 offers remote sensing circuitry output that is a dry relay contact closure suitable to interface with a modem or computer port for polling remotely. With this feature, a central computer could detect a failed Model 258 at the intersection. ACCESSORY SOLD SEPARATELY
Model 258 provides excellent noise suppression over a large frequency range. Typical noise attenuation is 10 dB @ 28 KHz, 54 dB @ 100 KHz and 50 dB @ 1 MHz.

Model 105 (Edco DRS Series) DIN Rail Protection
The ASCO Model 105 is a din rail mountable, single pair surge suppression module implementing three-stage hybrid technology. This module addresses over-voltage transients with gas tubes and silicon avalanche components. In addition, sneak currents are mitigated with resetable fuses (PTCs). The PTCs increase resistance several orders of magnitude when over-currents exceed safe levels. A normal state resumes when overcurrents are removed. The ability to self-restore in this manner significantly increases suppressor performance and survivability. The Model 105 mounts onto a standard 35mm industrial din rail. There are three “Field Side” and three “Electronics Side” screw terminals. One is reserved for a shield. Three electrically tied ground terminals are provided for grounding the Model 105 unit to Building-Approved Ground. Shield is isolated from ground. Two (2) terminal versions without a shield connection are also available.

Model 175 (Edco PC642 Series) Zone/Loop/Data
The ASCO Model 175 Series surge suppressor is a two-pair (four-wire) module implementing three-stage hybrid technology. This module addresses over-voltage transients with gas tubes and silicon avalanche components. In addition, sneak and fault currents are mitigated with resettable fuses (PTCs). The PTCs increase resistance by several orders of magnitude when over-currents exceed safe levels. A normal state resumes when over-currents are removed. The ability to self-restore in this manner significantly increases suppressor performance and survivability. The ASCO Model 175 Series card edge module is gold plated, double sided, and is designed to mate with the ASCO PCB1B gold-plated female terminal connector. When snapped together, the data circuits “pass thru” the protector in a serial fashion from the four “Field Side” terminals to the four “Electronics Side” terminals. Terminals 1 or 10 of the ASCO PCB1B must be attached to Building-Approved Ground per ASCO Technical Bulletin # 2015.

Shield - Ground Isolation The BNCA10kA includes separate protection modes for Pin to Shield and Shield to Ground. This prevents SPD ground loops and possible signal interference caused if a long run of cable references a different ground than the head-end ground.
Installation • This is a directional, in-line series-connected SPD. PROTECTED end of SPD must be at equipment or camera end. UNPROTECTED end must be at cable end. Industry ‘Best Practices’ recommend SPDs at both ends of cabling. • Grounding: Locate SPD such that Ground lead is as short and straight as possible. Connect to a reliable ground, which should be the same ground reference for power and Pan-Tilt-Zoom (if equipped). Trim Ground lead as appropriate. Inches matter! Do not coil excess lead - cut off excess lead. Crimp-attach included wire terminal and connect to reliable ground. Din-Rail bracket does not electrically ground this SPD. SPD attachment to Din-Rail is not mandatory. • All applicable Code(s) and regulation(s) must be followed. • If SPD problems are suspected, remove SPD and test system. If system operates normally, replace SPD.
