SPECIFICATION Solid steel components made from steel to BS 9070 Part 1 (1983) Nominal Bore Tube (medium) to BS 1387. Flat rubber seats shall be of an aluminium insert bonded to a synthetic rubber (E.P.D.M) honeycomb construction. Non-standard fastenings are plated for weather protection and designed to deter vandals.
Welds are copper free wire diameter 1mm to BS EN 440 (1995). Metal parts coated with low lead polyester paint to BS EN 71 part 3. Bearings made from grade T100 G Tufcot.

Read installation instructions thoroughly before commencing the erection of unit. Do not tighten fastenings until unit is completely assembled. Excavate foundations in accordance with details shown on foundation plan. Fit top bar to side frames using M12 x 60 lg pentagon button head screw and M12 safety fasteners (for fitting of Rotating Swing Bearings see diagram). Place assembled unit into prepared foundations, with base standing on standard house brick that is frog side down. Set to dimensions shown. Check swing frame assembly for correct height and width, plumb and square, fully tighten all, fastenings. Backfill foundations with concrete. Concrete mix to be 4 parts gravel, 2 parts sand, 1 part cement. Amount of concrete required – 0.75 cubic metres.

Prevent use of unit until foundations have set – approx 48 hours. When foundations have set, re-tighten all fastenings. M10 bolts to be torqued to 34 Nm (25 lbs. Ft). M16 bolts to be torqued to 120 Nm (85 lbs. Ft) Assemble swing chain and seat. Attach to top bar by removing shackle and key link from top bar and then feeding chain through key link to achieve correct seat height. Fit shackle through top of key link and re-fit shackle to top bar as initially supplied. Ensure chains are prevented from twisting when tightening fastenings.
Note :- Ensure all installation aids are removed before use.

Fitment Of Swing Chains To Top Bar 1. Swing top bars are supplied with shackles and key link attached. 2. To fit swing chains, remove shackle from top bar and then the key link from the shackle. 3. Feed the chain through the key link slot to achieve the required seat height. Ensure that 2 links only are fed fully through the key link slot. 4. Fit shackle through top of key link and fit shackle to top bar as initially supplied. 5. Finally ensure shackle nut is fully tightened.

Top bar to side frame fitting detail
Split Bearing and slide Bearing over top bar. Locate hole in bearing to hole in Top Bar. Fit Pin ensuring that no part of the Pin sits proud of the bearing surface. Locate Bush into hole in Bearing Casting. Locate Bearing Casting onto Bearing. Lubricate the Bearing at this point with a general lubricating grease. Secure Bearing Casting with Retention Ring.
