System-95 DTA-9500 (1U) Direct processing, recording & playback of ultra-wideband signals DTA-5000 RAID Server (2U) System-95 can directly sample an RF/IF signal at 3.6 GHz rate with 12-bit precision and provide long-duration record & playback Key features        DTA-9500 offers one 3.6 GSPS 12-bit ADC input or two 1.8 GSPS 12-bit ADC inputs and one 12-bit 4 GHz DAC output Virtex 6 FPGA banks with multiple DDC core options and up to 4 x10 Gigabit networks (fibers) Separate 1 Gigabit control network DTA-5000 RAID server with 12 or 23 TB SSD storage option Up to 4 GBytes/s sustained record / playback rate GUI software for control & operation Optional RF input & output Block Diagram General Description The System-95 includes the DTA-9500 ultra-wideband digital transceiver (occupies only 1U rack space), and the DTA-5000 RAID Server with up to 23 TB SSD storage. A smaller 1U server is also available for 1-channel recording at 1.8 GBytes/sec. The system comes fully integrated and tested and no user development is required for recording & playback. The GUI software supplied with the system eases systems control and operation. Applications      Direct digitization of antenna signals High-energy physics experiments Radar signature collection Wireless system testing Ultra-wideband (up to 1.5 GHz BW) & longduration signal generation The datasheet is subject to change without notice System-95 can be used to digitize either 1 input signal at up to 3.6 GHz sample rate or two input signals at 1.8 GHz sample rate each. The ADC resolution is 12-bit. It also includes one 12-bit DAC capable of operating at up to 4 GHz rate. The on-board FPGAs provide different options for processing IF signals. Various DDC cores are offered for 1 GHz and 1.2 GHz IF signals with BWs up to 500 MHz & 160 MHz IF signal with BW up to 100 MHz. The output is complex (I & Q) baseband data. DUC cores are also available for digital up conversion of the complex baseband data to an analog IF output (DAC output). The data is real when the DDC is not used. The DTA-5000 RAID Server is a dual six-core RAID server with DTA’s record / playback software engine capable of recording and playing back at up 4 GBytes/sec. For sampling rate over 2.66 GHz, the final output data is rounded to 8-bit. www.d-ta.com System-95 September 2014 Specifications Channel count Max Sample Rate ADC/DAC Precision Full Scale Input /Output Impedance Connector SFDR Integrated SNR Gain (Optional RF) Gain Control (optional RF) OIP3 (Optional RF) Phase Noise @ 1 GHz Reference Clock TCXO Phase Noise External Reference Level Data FPGA WB DDC decimation DUC Interpolation (Optional) Max Data Rate to Recorder /Player RAID Server Data Network Control Network Processors Storage (Hard Drives) Input (Recorder) 1 Channel @3.6 GSPS or 2 Channels @ 1.8 GSPS 3.6 GSPS 12 Bit 0 dBm 50 Ohm Output (Player) 1 Channel Environmental Operating Temp 4 GSPS 12 Bit -3 dBm 50 Ohm Storage Temp Warm up time Humidity Physical 50 Ohm SMA Female <-60 dBc 58 dB 15 dB 31.75 dB in .25 dB Steps 50 Ohm SMA Female <-55 dBc 50 dB 7 dB Same Size Weight Enclosure Power 3U 70 lbs 19” Rackmountable AC Mains. 1000W 35 dBm -95 dBc/Hz @100 kHz 35 dBm Same General Documentation Warranty Quick Start Guide 1 Year 100 MHz (Internal TCXO) 10 – 100 MHz (External) <-100 dBc/Hz @ 100 Hz Sine +6 dBm (max) Same 0 to 350 C or 0 to 500 C (with upgraded server) -20 to 700 C 5 minutes 95% non-condensing Same 2 x Virtex 6 3 3 or 6 3.6 GBytes/sec 4 GBytes/sec Parameter Up to 4 10 Gigabit networks 1 Gigabit 2 X six Core Xeon Up To 24 x 960 GB (SSD) The datasheet is subject to change without notice www.d-ta.com System-95 September 2014
