DX - EVAPORATOR SECTIONS
Air Cooled Remote Evaporator (Models VFS-( )-DAR) The system shall be a remote (split) air cooled, floor mounted precision air conditioner evaporator. The evaporator section shall house, as a minimum, the evaporator coil, expansion valve, compressor, evaporator blower/ motor and associated electrical and refrigeration components.
The evaporator system shall require only a single point main power supply connection; and the system shall ship from the SATS factory with a dry nitrogen holding charge ready for field refrigerant (R-22) charging.
Remote Outdoor Propeller (Models WCS-( )-( )) The system shall be a remote outdoor air cooled condenser with direct-driven propeller fan(s). The condenser cabinet shall house the condenser coil, fan(s) and fan motor(s) and Nema 3R condenser motor control/enabling box. The compressor(s) shall be located with the VFS-( )-AR evaporator section. The condenser shall be sized to provide the total heat of rejection of the system at a 95°F DB ambient temperature for the corresponding CyberTWO model VFS-( )-AR evaporator.
WCS-( )-V: Low Ambient Head Pressure Control down to a minimum ambient temperature of -20°F via Variable Fan Speed Head Pressure Control.
WCS-( )-F: Low Ambient Head Pressure Control down to a minimum ambient temperature of -30°F via Flooded Head Pressure Control.
DX - WATER COOLED SYSTEMS
Integral Self-Contained (Models VFS-( )-DW) The system shall be a dual compressor, self-contained, floor mounted precision air conditioner to include integral water cooled condensers with factory installed head pressure water regulating control valves. Condenser (source) water shall be provided by a cooling tower or some other remote water source. The system shall require only single point main power supply connection, and the system shall ship from the SATS factory with a full operating refrigerant (R-22) charge. Water Regulating Valves: Head pressure shall be automatically controlled by factory installed 2-way water regulating valves rated for 150 psig w.w.p. (Note: 3-way and high pressure valves are optionally available, page 3-9.)
DX - GLYCOL COOLED SYSTEMS
Integral Self-Contained (Models VFS-( )-DG) The system shall be a dual compressor, self-contained, floor mounted precision air conditioner to include integral glycol cooled condensers with factory installed head pressure glycol regulating control valves.
Condenser (source) glycol solution shall be provided via a CyberAiR model GPS-( )-( ) / F( )S-( ) remote glycol pump package and drycooler system. The evaporator system shall require only single point main power supply connection, and the system shall ship from the SATS factory with a full operating refrigerant (R-22) charge. Glycol Regulating Valves: Head pressure shall be automatically controlled by factory installed 2-way glycol regulating valves rated for 150 psig w.w.p. (Note: 3-way and high pressure valves are optionally available, page 3-9.)
GLYCOL PUMP PACKAGE & REMOTE DRYCOOLERS
(Single Pump Packages) (Models GPS-( )-S) The system shall be a single pump package designed to provide the total required glycol condenser coolant flow rate at the total rated system pressure drop. The pump packaged shall include, as a minimum; pump, starter/ contactor, main power non-fused disconnect switch, 24 Volt control transformer, A/C unit and drycooler interconnect contacts.

(Dual Pump Packages) (Models GPS-( )-D) The system shall be a dual (two), redundant, pump package designed to provide the total required glycol condenser coolant flow rate at the total rated system pressure drop. A coolant sensing flow switch shall be provided for automatic switchover from primary to backup pump operation in the event of a loss of coolant flow. The dual pump package shall include, as a minimum; quantity two (2) equal horsepower pumps, pump starters/contactors, main power nonfused disconnect switch, 24 Volt control transformer, A/C unit and drycooler interconnect contacts.

Remote Drycooler (Models WCS-( )-( )) The system shall be a remote outdoor air cooled glycol drycooler (fluid-cooler) sized to provide the total heat of rejection of the system glycol condenser source solution at a ___°F DB ambient temperature. The drycooler shall include, as a minimum; glycol coil, direct-driven propeller fan(s), fan motor starters/ contactors, main power non-fused disconnect switch, drycooler fan cycling control aquastat(s) and field installed 15 gallon expansion tank and airtrol fitting.

The evaporator system shall require only single point main power supply connection, and the system shall ship from the SATS factory with a full operating refrigerant (R-22) charge. ALTERNATE WATER SOURCE
(Chilled Water by "Day" and DX-Backup by "Night"!) (Models VFS-( )-DAR, DW, DG-AWS) The system shall be a dual compressor floor mounted precision air conditioner to include a combination DX refrigeration cycle and Alternate Water Source cooling cycle. The Alternate Water Source cooling cycle shall be provided to utilize building chilled water supply, when available, as the primary cooling cycle with DX refrigerant cooling as a backup.
(Models VFS-( )-DW/DG-FC) The system shall be a self-contained, floor mounted precision air conditioner to include a combination integral, dual compressor, DX Water/ Glycol Cooled refrigeration cycle and Free-Cooling economizer cycle. The Free-Cooling cycle shall be provided to take advantage of low ambient air temperature conditions to provide compressor-less cooling. Condenser (source) and free-cooling coil glycol solution shall be provided via a CyberAiR model GPS-( )-( ) / WCS-( )-( ) remote glycol pump package and drycooler system. During free-cooling mode, the drycooler capacity shall be increased by reversing the typical drycooler fan(s) cycling sequence of operation to provide maximum cooling effect for the glycol coolant solution.

Cabinet Construction

The cabinet and access panels shall be fabricated from heavy gauge galvannealed steel and powder-coat paint processed for decor matching and corrosion protection. The panels shall be lined with 2 lb/ft2 high density sound and thermal insulation and sealed with self-extinguishing gasketing conforming to NFPA 90A and 90B.

GENERAL GUIDE SPECIFICATION
Electrical System
General Description
The indoor evaporator shall be provided with a unit mounted main power circuit breaker with lockable handle. The circuit breaker shall provide main power lockout during routine maintenance and service. The circuit breaker shall be a thermal magnetic type selected to protect the fast-bus power distribution system, providing short circuit and ground fault system protection.
- Standard Equipment
Remote Stop / Start Included in the system's electrical control circuit shall be a 2-pin terminal connection for remote stop / start of the CyberTWO air conditioner by a remote source. Modular Motor Controllers
The system shall be a floor mounted air conditioner designed and built to provide precision temperature and humidity control. The system shall be complete and factory run-tested before shipment. The system shall be MET Laboratory (an NRTL) listed and labeled in compliance with UL 1995 and CSA C22.2 No. 236. The system shall be MEA NYC approved (MEA-163-88-E). The system shall be manufactured by Stulz Air Technology Systems, Inc. in Frederick, Maryland, USA.
100% Front Access The air conditioner shall require front only access for all routinely maintenanced components. No allowance for side service access shall be required, however, removable side access shall be provided for additional access.

Main Power - Circuit Breaker
The system shall incorporate modular motor controllers utilizing motor start protectors and circuit breakers eliminating the need for fusing, as well as providing:
Evaporator Coils
• Motor branch circuit short circuit protection • Motor load switching controllers (contactors) • Motor overload protection The system shall incorporate overcurrent and overload protection in accordance with UL 1995 requirements. Each blower motor, compressor, electric heater stage and humidifier (if applicable) shall be provided with a factory mounted and wired starter / contactor. The control circuit shall be a 24 VAC Class 2 low voltage circuit including a circuit breaker for protection. Low voltage, high voltage and grounding wires shall be color coded and shall be individually numbered at each end for ease of service tracing. All wiring shall be in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC).
The DX-evaporator coil shall be an AFrame design to provide maximum coil surface area and minimum depth to provide a high sensible cooling capacity. The coil shall be seamless drawn copper tubes, mechanically bonded to tempered aluminum fins with a dual interlaced circuiting design for maximum heat transfer. C-6000 Microprocessor
The blower(s) shall be belt driven with double width, double inlet housing, forward curved blades and permanently lubricated ball bearings sized for an average 150,000 hours of service life. The blower(s) shall be dynamically and statically balanced to minimize vibration and operate in the Class I range. The blower(s) shall be belt driven with dual belts (3 Hp and higher) sized for 200% of the fan motor horsepower. The blower shall have an adjustable base for belt tensioning and a locking system to prevent the motors from moving. The motor's drive sheaves shall have an adjustable pitch to change the speed of the blowers. The motor shall be 1725 RPM and shall have overload protection and a minimum NEMA service factor of 1.15.

Each refrigerant circuit shall include, as a minimum, refrigerant drier/strainer, sight glass with moisture detector, thermal expansion valve with rapid bleed port feature and external equalizer, evaporator coil, compressor, high pressure switch with manual reset and a low pressure switch with automatic reset. Split / Remote systems shall have a liquid line solenoid for refrigerant isolation to prevent liquid slugging. All high pressure joints shall be brazed, and the entire system shall be pressure tested at the factory with dry nitrogen, evacuated to at least 50 microns and fully charged with refrigerant.

The CyberTWO floor mounted A/C shall be provided with SATS’ C-6000 Microprocessor based Temperature and Humidity controller with Alarms. The controller shall incorporate a “user-friendly” operating environment, to allow easy system setup and operation. The C-6000 is a complete microprocessor based control system designed for operating, controlling and monitoring the air conditioning unit. Summary Alarm Contact: A summary alarm dry-contact (n/o or n/c) connection shall be available for remote annunciation of an alarm condition. An additional user-defined custom alarm drycontact shall also be available on most system configurations. Alarm History: The C-6000 controller provides users with a recorded history of the previous 80 alarms, including the time and date of the alarm. CONTROL INPUTS/OUTPUTS The C-6000 is capable of both digital (on/off) and analog input and output device control. Prior to shipment, each Precision A/C unit’s C-6000 is factory program configured to match the unit’s system operational requirements.

An expansion board shall increase the capability by providing and additional 8 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs.
Power Loss Restart In the event of a loss of power to the system, the C-6000 can be configured for Automatic or Manual Restart. The C-6000’s non-volatile memory enables the system to restart when power is restored, without the loss of the “last” stored set points and other system configuration settings. Sequential Load Activation To minimize the total in rush current loads during system startup/restart, the C-6000 controller shall be configured for time-delay sequence startup. The user can designate specific unit restart time-delays, as well as, each unit’s respective electric heater and/or humidifier. Unit restart delay can be adjusted from 0 to 10 minutes. Electric heater and/or humidifier restart delay can be adjusted from 0 to 60 seconds. Start Delay: After a power loss, the C-6000’s Start Delay feature allows the Precision A/C to operate with a delayed start period (adjustable up to 42 minutes).
SECURITY Keypad Lockout The C-6000 includes a 2-level password protection feature that prevents unauthorized users from making changes to system setpoints and settings available directly from the multi-function interface.
DIAGNOSTICS AND SERVICE MODE The C-6000 shall incorporate a unique self-diagnostics algorithm that continually tests systems functions and hardware operation. In the event of such a failure, the user will be alerted to the condition via a visual and audible alarm. Control Board The Control Board shall initiate a self-test of the control system.
number of “standby” units can be designated as any number. Automatic timed change over is designated between 1 and 255 hours. Automatic change-on-failure can be user customized by selecting which normally displayed alarms will result in a switchover to the “standby” unit. As well, standby units can be sequenced to maintain temperature and or humidity as needed. It is necessary that the remote sensor option be utilized for this function. The Multi-Unit Sequencing function shall exist inherently within the standard C-6000 controller. Interconnect wiring between the RS-485 data bus ports as well as field configuration from the C-6000 user interface shall be all that is required to incorporate this feature. When BMS communication is required (MIB Gateway), the RS-485 serial port shall be utilized for the MIB interface. The Multi-Unit Sequencing function shall then be accomplished in the same manner as described above but via the MIB Gateway.

MULTI UNIT SEQUENCING Multi-Unit Sequencing (Up to 6 Units) The C-6000 shall enable a unit sequencing function with automatic time-based switch over as well as change-on-failure switch over for up to 6 units via the standard RS-485 serial port. One unit shall be designated as the “master” with all others being designated as “standby”. The
C-6000 Inputs & Outputs shall be remotely monitored (address readable) and remotely controlled (address writable) via any building management system (BMS)/local area network (LAN) control system that can communicate via a ModBus protocol. Each C-6000 configured for BMS communication shall incorporate an RS-485 Serial Communication Port that is field connected to a factory provided wall mounted ModBus Gateway.

Temperature Anticipation The C-6000 shall incorporate a selfcalibrating and self-adjusting control logic that adjusts the response of the SATS air conditioner to changes in temperature and humidity. The system shall provide premium setpoint accuracy while controlling the room conditions rate of change, minimizing the equipment energy consumption and maximizing the system’s operating life and reliability.
Recovery Delay After a power loss, the C-6000’s Recovery Delay feature allows the Precision AC A/C to operate without initiating any high or low temperature or humidity alarms for a delayed period. This feature allows the A/C time (adjustable up to 42 minutes) to “pull-down” the conditioned space’s load without nuisance alarms during initial startup or power loss restart.

A compressor crankcase heater shall also be provided standard with this option. (Compressor Sound Jackets are not available with this option due to the crankcase heater).

Each compressor shall be provided with a factory installed acoustical sound jacket. Each sound jacket shall have a snap closure system for ease of removing and reinstallation during maintenance. Each sound jacket shall have a Noise Reduction Coefficient NRC of 85 per ASTM C-423 and a Sound Transmission Loss STC of 11 per ASTM E-90.

"Assist" FC + 1-Stage DX Mode: When outdoor air temperatures are between approximately 35°F to 65°F and cooling is required, the C-6000 microprocessor controller's "assistmode" free-cooling program algorithm shall analyze input data from factory provided and installed ambient temperature sensors, aquastat and return room air temperature and relative humidity sensors. Based on this data, the C--6000 shall automatically activate partial precooling mode in conjunction with one stage of DX cooling. This "precooling" effect decreases the hours of compressor operation, thereby increasing the operating savings of the installation. 100% Free-Cooling Mode: When outdoor air temperatures are below approximately 35°F and space cooling is required, all source coolant shall be diverted from the DX - Water / Glycol Cooled refrigerant condenser to a chilled water/glycol coil (free-

cooling coil & control valve). To maximize the cooling effect for the coolant solution during the freecooling mode, the drycooler capacity shall be increased by reversing the typical drycooler fan(s) cycling sequence of operation.
When outdoor air temperatures are above 65°F, or at any time when the free-cooling mode cannot handle the space cooling or dehumidification load, the C-6000 shall automatically switch to 100%, 2-stage DX - water / glycol cooled compressorized cooling mode.
Alternate Water Source (Chilled Water by "Day" and DX-Backup by "Night" !) An Alternate Water Source cooling cycle shall be provided to utilize building chilled water supply when available as the primary cooling cycle, with dual compressor, DX refrigerant cooling as a backup. The air conditioner shall have two cooling systems: Remote Liquid Chiller (by others)

The primary mode of cooling shall be a chilled water / glycol circuit with alternate water source cooling coil and 3-way modulating (0-10 Vdc) control valve rated for 400 psig. w.w.p.
The secondary/backup mode of cooling shall be a dual compressor, DX refrigerant circuit. The C-6000 microprocessor's Alternate Water Source program algorithm shall analyze input data from factory provided and installed water flow switch, aquastat and return room air temperature, and relative humidity sensors. Based on this data, the C6000 microprocessor shall automatically control the sequencing of the primary AWS chilled water to and from the secondary/backup dual compressor DX modes of operation. If chilled water is available, the system shall operate like a chilled water unit, without the compressors operating. When the water temperature is too high, or the water flow rate is not sufficient, the air conditioner shall automatically switch to the dual compressor, DX refrigerant cycle. (Note: DX Air Cooled with AWS cooling is shown for illustration purposes only. DX Water and Glycol Cooled with AWS cooling are also available.)
