ELECTRICAL • Do not modify or disassemble the printer. • Ensure to discharge static electricity when you configure the printer or projector. OPERATION • Keep printer in a well-ventilated area. • Do not stare at the uv light for a long period of time during operation. It can cause permanent loss of vision. • Use only recommended resin for the printer. • Do not operate with wet hands. GUIDELINES • Do not expose printer to extremely high temperatures, such as direct sunlight, flame or other sources of heat. • Maintain the printer in a flat and sturdy surface. • Keep printer dry. • Do not use this printer for making illegal copies or to infringe copyright laws. Remove the head stopper. Rotate the head stopper counter clockwise to detach from the build plate assembly. 2. Insert the build plate. 3. Lock the head stopper. T-1000 8 GETTING STARTED SETTING THE VAT AND BUILD PLATE 4. Untighten the VAT stoppers. Rotate all (4) four vat stoppers counter clockwise to loosen, no need to remove the VAT stoppers from the VAT insert. VAT INSERT 5. Insert the VAT. 6. Tighten the VAT stoppers only enough to snug them against the VAT. Do not overtighten the VAT stoppers because it can damage the VAT. 9 T-1000 GETTING STARTED POWERING ON 1. Plug the power cable into a power outlet. Uninterruptible power supply recommended. POWER CABLE POWER OUTLET 2. Turn on main switch located at the back of the printer. MAIN SWITCH ON OFF 3. Press the power button for 2-3 seconds. The red led will illuminate from the power button. POWER BUTTON T-1000 G3D 10 GETTING STARTED POWERING DOWN 1. Press the power button and hold it down for 5 seconds then release the power button. Wait until the light goes off. POWER BUTTON G3D 2. Turn off main switch located at the back of the printer. MAIN SWITCH ON OFF 3. Unplug the power cable. POWER OUTLET 11 T-1000 GETTING STARTED CONNECTING TO PRINTER WIFI AND ACCESSING THE G3D WEB UI The T1000 has an onboard web interface which is called the G3D Web UI. It is a software that integrates with the T-1000 to print 3D objects. G3D There are three ways to connect to T-1000’s G3D Web UI. Connection can be thru printer wifi, home wifi or the ethernet. You need to access first the Web UI via G3D or Printer Wifi to be able to configure the other connections. PRINTER ACCESSIBILITY CONFIGURATION a. Connect via G3D or Printer Wifi 1. Search the “G3DPrinter” (SSID) wifi in the network. It automatically appears 15 seconds after powering on the T-1000. Network Connected G3DPrinter Secured 2. Enter the password “G3D54321” to connect to the G3D wifi. password T-1000 G3D54321 12 GETTING STARTED CONNECTING TO PRINTER WIFI AND ACCESSING THE G3D WEB UI b. Access the G3D Web UI 1. Type the default hostname [g3dprint:8080] in the URL box and press enter to access the G3D Web UI. g3dprint:8080 After an initial login to the G3D Web UI, setting details of ethernet’s ip address (if available) and G3D wifi’s ip address will be visible in the info box of the Web UI. CONFIGURING THE WIFI CONNECTIONS After you have accessed the G3D Web UI via G3D or printer wifi, on the index page of the Web UI, you can now configure the settings of the following connections. a. G3D or Printer Wifi Configuration It is important to configure the printer wifi connection if there are multiple printers or units. 1. Press the < >printer configuration icon at the top right of the Web UI index page. PDF 1 PRINTER CONFIGURATION BUTTON 2. Select . Printer Configurations Printer Wifi Home Wifi 13 T-1000 GETTING STARTED CONFIGURING THE WIFI CONNECTIONS 3. A printer configuration box will appear after you select the printer wifi. You need to type your new SSID, new password and new hostname to configure the settings. Password should be alphanumeric and not less than 6 characters. Printer Wifi Configuration Update Warning: The printer will restart, once you clicked the Save button. Please close your browser and try to access the printer in your browser again. SSID New SSID Password New Password Hostname New Hostname Save Cancel 4. Press button. Printer Wifi Configuration Update Warning: The printer will restart, once you clicked the Save button. Printer will restart after you press the save button. 6. Press button to close the browser. 7. Open the browser again and type your new hostname to access the Web UI. A printer configuration box will appear and you need to type your home SSID and password. Home Wifi Configuration Update Warning: The printer will restart, once you clicked the Join button. Please close your browser and try to access the printer again. To be able to connect to printer wifi again after joining the home wifi, please press the printer’s wifi rest button SSID Home SSID Password Home Password Join Cancel 4. Press button to connect to your home wifi. Home Wifi Configuration Update Warning: The printer will restart, once you clicked the Join button. Please close your browser and try to access the printer again. To be able to connect to printer wifi again after joining the home wifi, please press the printer’s wifi rest button SSID Home SSID Password Home Password Join 15 Cancel T-1000 GETTING STARTED CONFIGURING THE WIFI CONNECTIONS 5. Printer will restart after you press the join button. 6. Connect the laptop to home wifi where the printer is also connected to the home wifi. 7. Press button to close the browser. 8. Open the browser again. Type in the url box to access the Web UI. g3dprint:8080 RESETTING THE WIFI CONNECTIONS Once you are connected to your home WIFI. The only way to re-connect to G3D or Printer Wifi is to push manually the printer’s reset wifi switch located at the left panel of printer. PRINTER’S WIFI RESET 1. Use a small pin to push the wifi reset. CONNECTING VIA ETHERNET 1. Plug the ethernet cable into the ethernet port located at left panel of the printer to connect to your computer or laptop. ETHERNET PORT 2. Enter the current hostname in the web browser. If you haven’t changed the hostname configuration, type to the url box to access the Web UI. T-1000 16 GETTING STARTED UPDATING THE G3D WEB UI When we update the G3D Web UI, you will receive a notification. 1. Make sure printer is connected to the internet. 2. Press button to download update. 3. Wait until printer is fully rebooted then restart the browser. Press button. The selected .g3d file will be uploaded in G3D Web UI. T-1000 18 PRINTING OBJECTS WITH G3D WEB UI CHOOSING A FILE When a new file is uploaded, it is saved as .g3d file. Layout and Slice software allows you to create g3d files. Layout and Slice software allows the importation of 3D objects for preparation for printing. The G3D Web UI has several 3D object files ready for printing. 1. Press . 2. Select a file. Positioning the build plate will improve the adhesion of objects. 1. Lightly loosen all (4) four VAT stoppers. Rotate the VAT stoppers counter clockwise. VAT STOPPER 2 1 3 4 2. Press . VAT STOPPER 2 1 23 3 4 T-1000 PRINTING OBJECTS WITH G3D WEB UI CALIBRATING THE VAT Calibrating the VAT has similar procedures with positioning the build plate, only this time you need to include the adjustment of calibration levers. It is important to calibrate the VAT after a failed print or when replacing a new VAT. 1. Lightly loosen all (4) four VAT stoppers. Rotate the VAT stoppers counter clockwise. VAT STOPPER 2 3 1 4 2. Lightly loosen all (4) four calibration levers. 2 1 LEFT VAT SIDE VIEW 3 4 RIGHT VAT SIDE VIEW 3. Push down the VAT to check if the calibration levers are in unlocked position. Make sure that the VAT reaches the line mark to ensure no misalignment of build plate surface to VAT. VAT LINE MARK 7. Lightly tighten all calibration levers. ! Do not overtighten. VAT STOPPER 2 1 25 3 4 T-1000 PRINTING OBJECTS WITH G3D WEB UI FILLING THE VAT 1. Pour resin into the VAT before starting to print. Never fill up the VAT full. To avoid overflow and spill of resin inside the ! printer, VAT should be filled until the max line. SLOWLY FILL UP THE VAT Max Min PRINTING The projector of the printer has a default xy resolution setting of 175 µm. If you will print an object with a different xy resolution, change the xy resolution of the projector and adjust the focus of the projector. The resolution of the projector should always match the resolution of the object. See “Adjusting the XY resolution of the projector” on page 28. See “Focusing the projector” on page 32. 1. Press button to start to print. Do not stare at the UV light. The door window is UV protected. It should be closed during normal operations. Press button. 27 T-1000 PRINTING OBJECTS WITH G3D WEB UI ADJUSTING THE XY RESOLUTION OF PROJECTOR To effectively print an object, the xy resolution setting of the projector should have the same xy resolution indicated in the info box of G3D Web UI. not open the rear panel while the power is on. Before removing the rear ! Do panel make sure to touch any metal frame of the printer to avoid electrostatic discharge damage. 1. Press the power button and hold it down for 5 seconds then release the power button. Wait until the light goes off. POWER BUTTON G3D 2. Turn off main switch located at the back of the printer. Remove screws from the lower rear panel of the printer. 5. Open the lower rear panel of printer. PROJECTOR ADJUSTER 29 T-1000 PRINTING OBJECTS WITH G3D WEB UI ADJUSTING THE XY RESOLUTION OF PROJECTOR 6. Lightly loosen the projector adjuster, rotate it counter clockwise. XY RESOLUTION 100 µm 125 µm 150 µm 175 µm (DEFAULT) 7. Set the required resolution of the object. XY RESOLUTION 100 µm 125 µm 150 µm 175 µm (DEFAULT) PROJECTOR ADJUSTER KNOB Resolution setting: The lower the number, the finer the print will be. T-1000 30 PRINTING OBJECTS WITH G3D WEB UI ADJUSTING THE XY RESOLUTION OF PROJECTOR 8. Put the projector adjuster into the slot for lock position. SLOT LOCK POSITION 9. Tighten the knob. ! Do not overtighten the knob. 10. Return screws to attach the lower rear panel of the printer. 31 T-1000 PRINTING OBJECTS WITH G3D WEB UI FOCUSING THE PROJECTOR It is essential to focus the projector properly after you have adjusted the xy resolution setting of the projector. Make sure to position the build plate first, before you adjust the focus of the projector. See “Positioning the build plate” on page 18. ! Be alert of moving mechanism. 1. Rotate the head stopper counter clockwise. HEAD STOPPER 2. Remove the head stopper from the build plate assembly. 3. Remove the build plate from the assembly. T-1000 32 PRINTING OBJECTS WITH G3D WEB UI FOCUSING THE PROJECTOR 4. Load a “Calcube” file with the same resolution setting as the printer. Place a white paper with an outline box on top of the VAT, dimension should be 50mm x 50mm. 50mm x 50mm outline box 33 T-1000 PRINTING OBJECTS WITH G3D WEB UI FOCUSING THE PROJECTOR 7. Configure the following settings to printer. Initial Layer Cure Time 20 # No. of Initial Layer 1 Layers Cure Time 15 8. Press button. Position Build Plate + T-1000 Cancel 34 PRINTING OBJECTS WITH G3D WEB UI FOCUSING THE PROJECTOR 9. Ensure that the projected uv light of “Calcube” has identical dimension with the template box. The projected uv light should be sharp. If the uv light is blurred, adjust the focus ring of the projector. SHARP 50mm BLURRED template box ! Discharge static electricity. Wear safety glasses for uv light protection. 10. From the Web UI, press to cancel the projection of uv light. Pause + 35 Abort T-1000 PRINTING OBJECTS WITH G3D WEB UI FOCUSING THE PROJECTOR 11. Press the power button and hold it down for 5 seconds then release the power button. Wait until the light goes off. POWER BUTTON G3D 12. Turn off main switch located at the back of the printer. Make sure not to drop the focus lock knob in the printer. 16. Lightly loosen the focus lock knob. Rotate the knob counter clockwise to a 360 degree only. They will definitely last longer if you will give them proper care and maintenance. The following recommendations are for your everyday care and cleaning guide for your prints. ■ Avoid using sharp objects or abrasive materials on the surfaces of prints. ■ Never scrub the prints with metal bristles. ■ Some solvents can damage the prints, it is good to keep them away from harsh chemicals. ■ Exposure to direct sunlight may cause prints to discoloration. ■ Provide a proper storage for your prints. ■ Avoid storing prints near heat because it can cause excessive drying. ■ Avoid exposing the prints to extreme temperatures. ■ Clean the prints by dry wiping. Use a strainer to separate resin from any solid particles. 3. Wash and apply mild detergent into VAT. 4. Do not leave the resin inside the VAT when not in use or printing. Do not expose the VAT to excessive heat or direct sunlight. Ensure not to scratch the lens of the projector. 5. Rinse the VAT with clean water. 6. Wipe the VAT with a paper towel. CLEANING THE PROJECTOR 1. Power down the printer. 2. Use a blower on a low power to remove dust. 3. Apply lens cleaning solution to a microfiber cloth. 4. Gently wipe the lens in a circular motion. CLEANING THE T-1000 1. Power down the printer. 2. Apply a stain remover to a clean cloth. 3. Wipe the surface of the printer to remove splash or splatter of resin.
