confirm that the DTR PowerMACH drivers included with the PCI/II 16/4 are the fastest on the market. When used with switches and servers enabled for full-duplex operation, the PCI/II 16/4 is capable of boosting throughput to close to 32 Mbps. Taking full advantage of the PCI architecture, the PCI/II 16/4 can help boost LAN performance by providing greater throughput with minimal CPU utilization.
Easy Plug and Play Installation The PCI/II 16/4 is easy to install thanks to support for the Plug and Play standard defined in the PCI specification 2.1. This provides automatic configuration of key parameters including I/O address and Interrupt level. The adapter automatically detects UTP and STP connections and a comprehensive configuration utility is included to ensure trouble-free installation in complex environments. A choice of bus master DMA and I/O mapped data transfer modes increases the adapter’s flexibility, allowing it to be installed when other PCI 32-bit slots are occupied. To reduce LAN maintenance costs and increase remote network management, an optional Flash Remote Program Load facility allowing diskless PCs to be booted remotely is available.
