The T680E was designed with the end-user in mind and constructed of high quality materials for years of trouble-free use. Before using your SportsArt T680E Treadmill, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with this Owner's Manual. ※ Insert your hand under the deck to inspect the guide roller/walk belt positioning. Make sure that the walk belt is not on top of the guide rollers (image X). The belt should run beneath the guide rollers (image O); guide rollers should press the belt toward the floor. If the walk belt runs on top of the guide rollers, turn screws in position A counterclockwise to loosen the walk belt until you can flip the walk belt so it runs underneath the rollers. Then readjust the walk belt tension as shown in step 6.

Installing the Left/Right Pedestals and Cowling

1-1. First remove screws (41) from motor left/right side covers. Then remove those side covers. 1-2. Next, remove screws from the pedestal mounts (42).

1-3. Please thread cables through the right pedestal in the order indicated below. (a) Locate cables near the right pedestal mount. Cut or untie the zip tie connecting the cables. Pull the end of the cables away from the right pedestal mount. (b) Set the right pedestal (A3) horizontally on the floor, with its base facing the cables. Detach the feeder cord (A7) from the pedestal base. Secure the feeder cord (A7) onto the exposed end of the cables. (c) Untie the feeder cord (A7) from the top part of the right pedestal (A3). (d) From the top of the pedestal, pull the feeder cord (A7) to thread cables through the right pedestal (A3). (e) After cables have been threaded through the pedestal, untie the feeder cord (A7) from the cables.

1-4. While holding the cables to keep them from slipping, lift the right pedestal (A3). Set it on the right pedestal mount without pinching the cables. Note: Avoid pinching or crimping cables. Loosely secure right pedestal mount screws (42). Set the left pedestal (A5) in place on its mount and loosely secure its screws (42). Pull the waterproof ring (A6) on both pedestals above the motor cover.

1-5. Remove screws (43) from the top part of the pedestals. 1-6. Remove screws (44) from the left/right cup holders (A2a, A2b) on the cowling with handles (A2).

1-7. Install the cowling and route cables as indicated in steps (a~g) below.

a.First insert the cowling (A2) into the left pedestal (A5). b.Insert cables from the right pedestal into the right part of the cowling (A3) and into the square opening in the cowling (A2). c.Pull cables through the cup holder hole.

d.Insert the right part of the cowling (A2) into the right pedestal (A3). e.Then thread cables through the other square opening in the cowling until cables exit the front of the cowling as shown (A2).

1-8. After routing cables, secure the cowling with screws (43). 1-9. Insert left/right cup holders (A2a,A2b) into the cowling. Then use screws (44) to secure left/right cup holders (A2a,A2b).

1-10. After securing the cowling, secure screws (42) at position A in the left/right pedestal mounts. Then set motor left/right side covers into place, and secure them with screws (41). Finally, set the waterproof ring (42) into place.

2-1. Remove screws (45) from the cowling (A2). Note: for steps 2-2 and 2-3, it is best for two people to work together. 2-2. Have one person hold the display (A1) near the cowling (A2).

2-3. Have the other person connect cables as indicated in steps 2-3 a1 through a3 and 2-4. a1. First, secure the TV cable onto its connector by hand. a2. Remove the cable wrench from the hardware kit. Use the cable wrench to secure the TV cable. a3. Then secure the other two cables onto their connectors. 2-4. Then secure cable connections in area B.

2-5. After securing cable connections, follow steps (a~e) below to secure the display (A1) into place. a. First, hold the display (A1) as shown. Rotate it upward about 90 degrees. Then insert it into the cowling (A2). b. Make the triangle area in the image the point of rotation. c. Press the display (A1) downward, rotating it into place. d. Make sure that the display lower cover (A1) rests on the outside of the cowling (A2). If it rests inside the cowling, slightly lift the display (A1). Then reinsert it into the cowling (A2) so the lower cover rests outside the cowling. e. Secure the display with screws (45).

How to Move the Product
3-1. Place hands in area A. Then lift. Roll the unit into place.

How to Level the Unit
4-1. Set the treadmill where it will be used. Press both hands down on the end of the treadmill deck. Inspect whether levelers evenly touch the floor. 4-2. If the treadmill is not level, make adjustments as indicated in steps a,b,c below. Follow these instructions at every leveler on the product. a. Loosen the leveler nut. b. Rotate the rubber leveler foot downward until it touches the floor. c. Then secure the leveler nut upward against the frame of the unit.

How to Align the Walk Belt
5-1. Both edges of the walk belt should be an equal distance from the landing strips. If not, use tools to adjust rear roller screws to align the walk belt. Do not turn either rear roller screw more than 1 4 rotation at a time to avoid making the walk belt move too much to either side. Adjusting one side of the rear roller outward, away from the treadmill body, forces the walk belt toward the other side.

How to Adjust Walk Belt Tightness
6-1. As you exercise, does the walk belt suddenly pause and then regain traction? Or, if you bear down against the walk belt, does the belt not pause whatsoever? If either of these two conditions occur, the walk belt may be too loose or too tight. In this case, please turn off the treadmill and adjust walk belt tightness. To inspect a walk belt, lift it at the center of the deck as shown in Figure A,B. The walk belt should lift 30m/m<1 1/8"> or 3KG<6.6LB>. If the walk belt is too loose, turn rear roller screws clockwise 1 4 turn at a time and retest tightness. If the walk belt is too tight, turn rear roller screws counterclockwise 1 2 turn at a time and retest tightness. Perform the same procedure until walk belt is neither too tight nor too loose. Do not turn rear roller screws in excess of these amounts without first testing for proper tightness.

How to Connect the Power Cord
7-1. First remove screws (46) from the power cord socket on the product. 7-2. Insert the power cord into place on the product. 7-3. Secure power cord connector screws (46). Then insert the other end of the power cord into the appropriate power supply socket in the wall.

TV System Cable Connections
The T680E treadmill is designed to receive TV signals in analog and digital formats. Analog (CATV) systems include NTSC, PAL, and SECAM. Digital (DTV) functionality allows for reception of over-the-air digital TV signals. Determine the type of analog TV signal (NTSC or PAL/SECAM) used in your area. Also, note CATV and DTV labels on the TV cable connector plate on the front of the treadmill. By making proper connections, T680 can receive both analog and digital signals. NTSC system: See Fig. 1. Locate the appropriate connector provided with the product. Connect to the CATV system side as shown in Fig. A. PAL/SECAM system: See Fig. 2. Locate the appropriate connector provided with the product. Connect to the CATV system side as shown in Fig. A. DTV system: See Fig. 3. Use the appropriate connector (NTSC system type, not provided). Connect to the DTV system side as shown in Fig. A.

How to Replace a Fuse
If current becomes too high, the fuse breaks. This protects the product. To replace a fuse, follow instructions (a~g) below. (a) Press inward on the fuse cap. (b) Turn the fuse cap counterclockwise. (c) The fuse and fuse cap springs out. (d) Remove the burnt fuse. (e) Insert a new fuse into the fuse cap. ( f ) Insert the fuse into the fuse holder. (g) Rotate the fuse cap clockwise to secure it in place. Fuse: 110 V=15 Amp, A(F); 220 V=10 Amp, A(F)

Button Functions 1. QUICK START Quick Start allows you to begin exercising immediately, without entering user age, weight, and other information. Time will count up. 2. TIME Press this button to establish time as your workout goal. 3. DISTANCE Press this button to establish distance as your workout goal. 4. CALORIES Press this button to establish calories as your workout goal. 5. ENTER After entering all parameters, press ENTER to confirm your choice. 6. Numeric Keypad (0 to 9) The numeric keypad can replace the function of < ▲ /▼ > buttons. Simply enter numbers (0 to 9) on the numeric keypad rather than pressing <▲/▼> buttons . 7. Decimal Point Keypad (.) Use this key to enter the decimal point of a setup value. 8. ▲/▼ Press these buttons to adjust functions up or down. To increase or decrease adjustments rapidly, hold either button down. 9. CLEAR a. Pressing this button clears inputted data. b. The 7-segment display will automatically scan the information window (TIME→ DISTANCE→ SPEED→ CALORIES…… ) every 6 seconds. Press this button to lock the view setting. The corresponding LED will flash. Press this button again to unlock the view setting. 10. TRACK One lap is equal to 0.4 kM/0.25 MILE. The center of the track displays the lap count.

11. RANDOM Press RANDOM to generate different courses. 12. GLUTE This program is specifically designed to exercise the gluteus muscle group of the body; 30 and 45 minute durations are available in these incline-based programs. 13. INTERVAL There are three kinds of INTERVALs (1:1, 1:2, and 2:2). For example, in 1:2, 1 = one minute of rest; 2 = two minutes of work. 14. 5K This program mode is designed specifically with 5 Km as the workout distance goal. 15. 10K This program mode is designed specifically with 10 Km as the workout distance goal. 16. WT LOSS The weight loss program keeps the user's heart rate at 65% of maximum (i.e. (220-AGE)*0.65) to provide an optimal weight loss workout. 17. CARDIO The cardio program keeps the user's heart rate at 80% of maximum (i.e. (220AGE)*0.8) to provide an optimal cardio workout. 18. CUSTOM HR The Heart Rate Control (HRC) program allows users to key in their desired target heart rate. 19. FIT TEST FIT TEST programs include two physical fitness tests: Bruce and Gerkin. 20. SPEED ▲/▼ Press SPEED ▲/▼ to increase or decrease the walk belt speed. Speed adjusts ▲/▼ in 0.1 MPH/KPH increments. To increase or decrease adjustments rapidly, hold either button down. 21. STOP/HOLD TO RESET a. While exercising: (1) If you pressed QUICKSTART to start exercising, press STOP to stop. (2) If you entered user information to start exercising, press STOP to stop the treadmill and enter pause mode. b. Under any status, hold this button to reset the banner display. 22. FAN Press the fan control button to select one of three speeds.

23. SOURCE Press SOURCE to switch to different screens (WORKOUT/TV/AV). 24. SPLIT/FULL a. When watching TV, press this button to view one of two modes: TV + WORKOUT screen (which shows TV along with workout information on the right side) and full TV screen. b. When viewing the WORKOUT SCREEN, press this button to activate or deactivate a 6-second scan function in the TFT-LCD information window. Feedback rows CAL/HR METS TIME INCLINE% and CALORIES SPEED TIME DISTANCE alternate in scan mode. When scan mode is activated, press this button to leave scan mode and view only the present row of information. Press again to revert to scan mode. 25. VOL+ , VOLAdjust the TV, AV, DTV volume. 26. CH+ , CHSelect TV, DTV channels.
D. Safety Key 1. The safety key must be in place for the treadmill to operate. This safety device is intended to stop the treadmill should a user stumble and fall. 2. If the safety key is not in place, the message "SAFETY KEY" appears on the display to remind the user to put the safety key in place.

HOW TO OPERATE THE T680E TREADMILL 1. Quick Start Press QUICK START to operate the treadmill without first inputting user information. When QUICK START is selected, "TREAD STARTING" appears on the display, and the walk belt rotates at 0.1 MPH/ 0.2 KPH, after which the speed can be modified. The user information default is 165 LBS / 75 KG.
2. Input User Information Input user information to obtain accurate information on caloric burn, heart rate control (target heart rate is generated by age) and to accumulate total usage time, distance, and calories burned (PROGRAM/AGE/WEIGHT). A. SELECT PROGRAM Select an exercise program by pressing a workout program button. See below for information on workout programs. B. SET UP WORKOUT GOAL In workout program mode, "SELECT GOAL" will appear. There are three workout goals: time, distance, and calories. (1) TIME range is from 05:00 to 99:00 (default value: 30:00). Press TIME to select time as the workout goal. a. The minute value will flash. b. Press up/down or the numeric keypad to select a time. c. Press ENTER to confirm your choice. (2) DISTANCE range is from 0.10 to 99.99 MILES/KM (default value: 2.00 MILE / 3.00 KM). Press DISTANCE to select distance as the workout goal. a. The distance LED will light up, and the minute value will flash. b. Press up/down or the numeric keypad to select a distance value. c. Press ENTER to confirm your choice. (3) CALORIES range is from 100~9999 KCAL (default value: 700 KCAL). Press CALORIES to select calories as the workout goal. a. Press up/down or the numeric keypad to select a calorie expenditure value. b. Press ENTER to confirm your choice. C. Input user AGE & WEIGHT. (1) AGE range is from 10 to 99 (default value: 35). a. Press up/down or the numeric keypad to select your age. b. Press ENTER to confirm your choice. (2) WEIGHT range is from 50 to 500 LB / 20 to 227 KG (default value: 165 LB / 75 KG). a. Press up/down or the numeric keypad to select your weight. b. Press ENTER to confirm your choice.

D. ACTIVATE WORKOUT PROGRAMS Activate workout programs after establishing user information. For details on workout programs, please see WORKOUT PROGRAMS. E. SPEED Speed range is 0.1 to 15.0 MPH / 0.2 to 24.0 KPH. (1) As a prompt, "0.1" will flash in the speed window. "ENTER SPEED" will appear on the message row. (2) Press up/down or use the numeric keypad (0 to 9) to input target speed. (3) Press ENTER to confirm your choice and start exercising.
3. Treadmill Display Activity A. Before the treadmill begins to operate, the message row will display "TREAD STARTING". Meanwhile, the dot matrix display will show "3→ 2→ 1". The EAC servo motor system will begin to operate; the walk belt will begin to rotate. B. The following information will be displayed. (1) The message row will toggle between various workout information (CAL/HR METS TIME INCLINE% CALORIES SPEED TIME DISTANCE). Every six seconds, a different line of information will appear. (2) WORKOUT GOAL Percentage Complete shows your goal and the percentage of your goal completed so far. (3) In Wt Loss Training Zone & Cardio Training Zone, target heart rates will appear. Target heart rates are calculated from the weight setting. For details, please see WT LOSS, CARDIO and CUSTOM HR on page 39.

4. Cool Down Upon achieving your workout goal (TIME/DISTANCE/CAL), "ACCU DATA" appears on the display, showing accumulated workout data. After displaying the accumulated workout data (time, distance, calories, and average heart rate), the treadmill will automatically enter COOL DOWN mode. "COOL DOWN" will appear; and the walk belt speed will gradually slow to 2.5 MPH / 4 KPH; incline will decline to 0%. COOL DOWN mode lasts two minutes. Time counts down to "0:00". The treadmill walk belt will stop and the startup banner will appear on the display.

ABOUT THE HEART RATE DETECTION AND PRESENTATION About Telemetry Heart Rate The word "telemetry heart rate" refers to the detection of the heart rate, usually via a strap worn on the exerciser's chest, and transmitted over the air for reception by a receiver built into the product. The following explains conditions that influence the performance of the telemetry heart rate function in all products. 1. The telemetry heart rate transmitter emits a wireless 5kHz signal that is harmless to the human body. Inside the transmitter is a 3V battery (CR2032). If the battery charge is too low, either the reception distance shortens or there will be no reception whatsoever. 2. Secure the telemetry heart rate transmitter on your chest so it is neither too tight nor too loose. Moisten the skin for better contact. 3. The telemetry heart rate receiver accepts a 5kHz wireless signal, but because the signal varies from 20Hz to 20KHz, it is susceptible to environmental interference. Stereos, TVs, other electronic products, the vibration between the unit and the floor, and other factors may interfere with telemetry heart rate signal reception. For best results, install the product in a location free from interfering items. 4. Place fitness products apart by at least100 cm to avoid having the heart rate value from an exerciser on one product appear on another product. 5. Heart rate values are for comparison only. Do not use them for medical treatment or other purposes.
About Contact Heart Rate It is easy to use the contact heart rate mechanism. Simply put both hands on the silver contact plates (one per side) and hold them there continuously. As soon as your pulse is received and calculated, the heart rate will automatically appear on the display. Please note that some people have very weak heart beats. This makes heart rate detection difficult. Under such circumstances, the contact heart rate mechanism may not detect heart rate. Please note the following: 1. For best results, continuously hold the contact heart rate plates. 2. It is difficult to detect the heart rate of people with low systolic blood pressure. 3. It is difficult to detect the heart rate of people with dry, course palms. Keeping palms smooth and damp improves heart rate detection.

4. The vibration of treadmills at speeds over 4 MPH/6.4 KPH makes heart rate detection difficult. Also, if your hands move, heart rate detection becomes difficult. Suggestions: For better heart rate detection, keep hands in one place on the contact plates. Or wear a telemetry heart rate strap on your chest. Note: Avoid Static Electricity In cold, dry areas, static electricity can interfere with unit operation. In such environments, touching metal may cause static electrical shocks. Suggestions: Before touching metal, touch a material with electrically isolative properties, for instance, plastic or foam, to avoid shocks from static electricity. Because heart rate contact plates are made of metal, to avoid static shock, first touch foam grips, then touch heart rate contact plates.

WORKOUT PROGRAMS Follow instructions in HOW TO OPERATE THE T680E TREADMILL to activate workout programs. The following explains workout program features. In general, press the corresponding workout program button to activate the following workout programs:
1. TRACK One lap is equal to 400 meters (0.25 mile). The flashing dot indicates your present location.
2. RANDOM The random program randomly generates a near infinite range of workout programs (10,000). Repeatedly press this button until you find a course to your liking.
3. GLUTE Glute programs are incline-based workouts designed to exercise the gluteus muscles of the body. There are two glute programs: GLUTE 30 and GLUTE 45. Glute 30 is a 30-minute program. Glute 45 is a 45-minute program. Upon entering glute mode, the message row will show "1-GLUTE-30 2-GLUTE-45". Press 1 or 2 on the numeric keypad to select GLUTE-30 or GLUTE-45. Or press ENTER to choose the default setting, GLUTE-30.
4. INTERVAL (1:1, 1:2, 2:2) Interval courses are based on alternating "work" and "rest" periods. The time, incline, and speed setting of each interval segment can differ. Numbers 1:1, 1:2, and 2:2 correspond to work and rest periods. For example, 1:1 means one minute of rest to one minute of work. After the INTERVAL button is pressed, the message row shows "1-1:1 2-1:2 3-2:2". a. Press 1, 2, or 3 on the numeric keypad to select one of the three interval options. b. Follow prompts on the display to establish interval segment settings. c. If you press INTERVAL while exercising in one interval workout program, you can select a different interval program. d. At the beginning of any interval segment, you can change the setting for that segment. The change will apply thereafter whenever that segment appears.
5. 5K & 10K Press the corresponding button to choose either the 5K or 10K workout. Within both of these workout programs, there are two options: FLAT and HILL. Follow prompts to begin your workout. When "1-FLAT 2-HILL" appears, press 1 or 2 on the numeric keypad to select your preferred terrain, or press ENTER to choose the default setting, flat. After selecting speed, press ENTER to begin exercising.

6. WT LOSS, CARDIO and CUSTOM HR These programs employ what is called Heart Rate Control (HRC) technology to adjust speed or incline to maintain a specific target heart rate. They are designed to provide optimal efficiency in reaching your exercise goals. A. Target heart rates: 1. WT LOSS = 65% Heart Rate Control:(220 - AGE) * 65% 2. CARDIO = 80% Heart Rate Control:(220 - AGE) * 80% 3. CUSTOM HR: set up by users, not calculated according to the selected age. B. Heart Rate Control Program Operation In heart rate control programs, the treadmill automatically adjusts speed or incline to maintain an optimum heart rate to obtain your workout goals. Heart rate control programs include weight loss, cardio conditioning and custom heart rate. For weight loss and cardio conditioning, target heart rate is calculated as follows: Weight loss = 65% of "maximum" heart rate: (220 – age) 65% Cardio conditioning = 80% of "maximum" heart rate: (220 – age) 80% Under the custom heart rate program, you determine your own target heart rate. To activate these programs, simply press the program button and follow prompts. Speed or incline must be chosen as your heart rate control parameter. At one point, the display shows "1-INCL 2-SPEED." Press 1 or 2 to choose either of these heart rate control operating parameters. Then press ENTER to confirm your choice. "ENTER MAX SPEED" appears. Press ▲/▼ or press numerical keys (0~9) to adjust maximum speed. Then press ENTER to confirm your choice. The initial speed is 0.1 MPH / 0.2 KPH. In the speed parameter mode, speed will increase until maximum speed is reached as long as your actual heart rate is below the target heart rate. In incline parameter mode, incline operates to control heart rate. The maximum speed can be adjusted during exercise. Press SPEED ▲/▼ or use the numeric keypad (0 to 9) to adjust the maximum speed. "ENTER MAX SPEED" appears on the display. The setup window will display the previously selected maximum speed. Make changes and press ENTER to confirm your choice. Incline can still be adjusted manually.
7. FIT TEST Press FIT TEST to activate either of two fitness test options: BRUCE & GERKIN. The message row will show "1-BRUCE 2-GERKIN". Press 1 or 2 on the numeric keypad to select 1-BRUCE or 2-GERKIN, or press ENTER to choose the default setting, Bruce. After completing the test, "END OF FIT TEST" appears, along with "YOUR SCORE IS ???" where ??? represents a number. The highest score is 100, while the lowest is 0.

GUIDELINES FOR EXERCISE How hard should I exercise?

Studies show that to achieve the benefits of aerobic exercise, it is necessary to work within your training zone. Your training zone depends on your age and level of fitness. The above chart indicates the recommended Heart Rate training zones (darkened area of the chart). These figuress are calculated by taking 220 minus your age, and calculating 80% for your maximum and 65% for the minimum heart rate for aerobic exercise. CAUTION: Heart Rate training zones are approximations. Always check with your physicians to learn what appropriate heart rate level is best for your fitness level. How long should I exercise? The duration of your exercise session depends on your fitness level. In general, it is recommended that you maintain your heart rate in the training zone for at least 15 to 20 minutes to realize an aerobic benefit. Beginners should always start slowly and bring their workout sessions up to 20 minutes or more. As your fitness level increases, you will be able to maintain your heart rate in the training zone for longer periods: Usually between 20 and 30 minutes. When first starting your workout, use the first several minutes to warm up, then slowly increase your workload to bring your heart rate into your specific training zone. At the end of your workout, gradually decease your workload, then exercise lightly as a "cool down". How often should I exercise? Research indicates to achieve the greatest benefits, should be performed 3-5 times a week. It is important to allow sufficient time, at least 24 hours, for your body to recover after exercise.

USER PARAMETER SETTING User parameters determine basic operating features, such as distance units, of the treadmill. To change these parameters, at the banner display, hold the ENTER button for three seconds. 1. Set up MPH/KPH. The message row will display the current status ("UNIT-MPH" or "UNIT-KPH"). Press▲ /▼ to change MPH or KPH. Press ENTER to confirm your choice or press STOP to quit (without changing parameters). 2. Display the total accumulative distance. The message row will display "DIST XXXXXX MILE" or "DIST - XXXXXX KM". Press ENTER to confirm your choice or press stop to quit (without changing parameters). 3. Display the total accumulative time. The message row will display "TIME XXXXXX HOUR". Press ENTER to confirm your choice or press stop to quit (without changing parameters). 4. Display the version of the software: a. The message row will display the version of the TFT-LCD "TFT XX-XX-XX". Press ENTER to confirm your choice or press STOP to quit (without changing parameters). b. The message row will display the version of the control board "CTL XXXXX-XX". Press ENTER to confirm your choice or press STOP to quit (without changing parameters). c. The message row will display the version of the drive board "DRV XXXXX-XX". Press ENTER to return to the banner display.
AUTOMATIC CHANNEL SCAN 1. Press VOL- & CH+ while watching TV. When the wording "SC xx" appears on the screen, automatic channel scan begins. 2. The unit only can be started after the automatic scan is complete (SC xx CH xx). In areas using PAL/SECAM systems, automatic scan might take more time. Please be patient.

TV SYSTEM SETUP PROGRAMMING TV system setup programming is explained below. Please note that programming for analog and digital TV reception differs. CATV (Analog) System Setup The CATV system setup is usually programmed into the product at the factory. If the CATV system of the product was not set at the factory, it may be necessary to activate the CATV system on the product. Hold the Channel Up key. Then press the Full/Split screen key. The display will show the product CATV system setting. To change the setting, press the Channel Up key or Channel Down key. Turn off the treadmill power after the name of your preferred system appears. Automatic Channel Scan (Analog) After connecting cables and providing TV signal, perform an automatic channel scan to locate channels as follows: 1. Turn the product on. 2. Press the Source key to enter the TV mode. 3. Simultaneously, press Volume Down and Channel Up. The automatic channel scan function begins. The numbers that appear represent TV channels. Once the scan program ends, you can select channels in TV mode by pressing channel up or down keys. Display Brightness Adjustment (Analog) To adjust brightness, simultaneously press the Full/Split Screen key and the Volume Up key. "B" appears. Press Volume Up or Volume Down keys to adjust brightness. Display Contrast Adjustment (Analog) To adjust contrast, simultaneously press the Full/Split Screen key and the Volume Down key. "C" appears. LCD Screen Power Saving Mode In general, LCD entertainment screens use much power. To avoid wasting power, the T680E treadmill has a power saving mode. After 15 minutes in which the motor is not operated, the LCD screen will become black. LEDs on the left side of the display will flash to indicate that the treadmill is still on. The Lubrication Prompt When total distance exceeds 4000 KM/2500 MILES, the message "SERVICE NEEDED- APPLY LUBE" appears when the unit comes to a stop. This is a reminder to lubricate the treadmill. The treadmill can be operated normally until total distance exceeds 4100 Km/2560 miles. When total distance exceeds 4100 KM/2560 MILES, the message "SERVICE NEEDED- APPLY LUBE" appears when the treadmill comes to a stop. At this point, the message will remain on the screen and the treadmill will not operate until the following process is completed.

1. Remove one treadmill end cap.
2. Simultaneously press and hold INCLINE ▲ + INCLINE▼ + 0 keys for two seconds. The treadmill will operate at low speed. At this point, no UP or DN keys will operate. 3. Insert the applicator tube so the line on the applicator touches the side of the walk belt.
4. Apply 50 cc from the bottle of liquid lubricant.
5. Let the treadmill operate two to three minutes so the lubricant can disperse.

6. Remove the applicator and the bottle of lubricant.
7. Secure the end cap on the treadmill.
8. Then the message "PLEASE PRESS THE STOP KEY AFTER FINISHING LUBRICATION" appears. Press the STOP key to complete the lubrication procedure. The treadmill will recalculate the total distance and operate normally.

Lubricating When Not prompted The physical task of lubricating the treadmill can be done at any time. When the startup banner, SPORTSART-T680, is displayed, simultaneously press and hold INCLINE ▲ + INCLINE ▼ + 0 for two seconds. The motor will operate at low speed at which time you can apply lubricant to the walk belt. Then the message "PLEASE PRESS THE STOP KEY AFTER FINISHING LUBRICATION" appears. Press the STOP key to complete the lubrication procedure. The treadmill will recalculate the total distance and operate normally.
Other Periodic Maintenance Tips Periodic maintenance, in addition to walk belt lubrication, should be performed by an authorized service technician. We recommend that the following tasks be undertaken at least every 4000 KM or 2480 miles, or every six months, whichever comes first. 1. Ensure proper power supply. Inspect the power supply, power cord, on/off switch, etc. 2. Is the treadmill level? Adjust levelers if necessary. 3. Vacuum under the motor cover. 4. Secure all cable connections. 5. Inspect drive belt tightness. Adjust if necessary. Inspect drive belt for wear. Replace it if necessary. 6. Inspect walk belt tightness. Adjust if necessary. Inspect walk belt for wear. Replace it if necessary. 7. Wipe the deck clean with a clean, damp cloth. Inspect the deck for wear. 8. Lubricate the deck and walk belt. 9. Wipe entire unit with a clean, damp cloth. 10. Test unit operation. Replace parts if necessary. Note: for safety, always disconnect power source before removing unit covers. Keep hands and clothing away from moving parts.
