The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 covers fire safety requirements applicable in the UK. The Fire Safety Regulatory Reform Order (RRO) applies to all premises where people meet, for example every office, shop, factory, warehouse, public residential premises including care homes, educational premises, restaurants, public houses, theatres, cinemas, stadiums, hospitals and public transport premises. WIRING CONFIGURATION CONVENTIONAL SYSTEM (INFINITY and OPTIMA) 2 WIRE (TWINFLEX) EOL Compliance with the Fire Safety RRO is ensured through a Fire Risk Assessment by a “Competent Person” organised by the “Responsible Person” typically being the landlord, owner, occupier or manager. TECHNICAL TECHNICAL A device should not be mounted within 500mm of any obstruction. If the top of a solid partition is less than 300mm from ceiling then treat it as a wall. Similarly, ceiling obstructions such as beams should be treated as walls if deeper than 10% of the ceiling height.
