Video & Projection A. Screens (included in rental set) Front View:

Screen Specifications: - The screens are hung from the ceiling. - The images on the screens are visable from both sides. - Rear projection (in case of the distance are too short for rear projection, the center screen can also be projected upon from the front). - Projection distance: approximately 6 meters for the center screen, approximately 2 meters for the side screens. - The screens are made from paper, similar to that of a Chinese painting, it can be rolled and unrolled when hung from the ceiling.
9 B. Video Playback System - All video is formatted in NTSC system. (29.97 fps, 50 lines, standard 4:3 ratio) - Video signal is composite and transferred through BNC/RCA cables. - Video operator/controller needs a desk on the stage (position marked on the diagram) in order to see the conductor.
C. Additional Cameras (optional) - These images are projected between film segments for ultimate audience experience, only one camera man is needed - Camera 1: Positioned in front of the conductor on a tri-pod to capture his/her motions. - Camera 2: Positioned in front of the soloist (most likely from the audience) on a tri-pod. A cameraman is required to capture and focus when movement changes such as during the percussionist’s cadenza or the cello/erhu solo cadenza. - Both cameras should be NTSC to adapt for the video system.
D. Projectors (optional in rental set) - center projector: over 6,000 lumens, with BNC composite interface. - side projectors: over 2,000 lumens, with BNC composite interface.

Lighting A. Overall - Light on stage must be dim enough to view projections. - Lighting must be adjusted so that no direct light falls on the screens.
B. Lighting Spots - Spotlight 60% for the conductor. - Spotlight 40% for cello/erhu solo. - Follow spot for percussionist’s cadenza in the third movement (optional).
C. Stand Lights - Stand lights are necessary for the soloist, conductor and all members of the orchestra as the stage lights will be dimmed in order to accommodate the projections.

Hardware on Stage - Solo platform, with piano bench and low music stand. - Approximately 1.2 meter long pipe or bar for center screen (included in rental set). - Nylon ribbons to connect the screen to the pipe/bar (included in rental set). - Steel wires in black to hang the screens from the ceiling. (included in rental set). - Two solid speaker stands for side projectors: one with a single platform, one with a double platforms (included in rental set). - BNC video cables: 30-meter long (2); 15-meter long (2) (can be included in rental set if not provided locally). - One desk for all video equipment located on the stage. The desk must not be smaller than 60cm by 100cm. Normal height. Black tablecloth must be provided. - 110V/220V electric power supply: z Stage left: video control table and left projectors. Must include wiring board with local adaptor. z Stage right: right projector. Must include wiring board with local adaptor.

Must include wiring board with local adaptor. z All video equipment (not including the projectors) will amount to less than 1 kW. - Sand bags or other heavy weights to hold the speaker stands in place. - TV monitor (with compositive video input) for rehearsal in other venue/room.
