CONRADER VALVES TANK MATE AUTOMATIC DRAIN VALVE INSTALLATION KIT INCLUDES: TEE WV-1 DRAIN VALVE PETCOCK TEE ASSEMBLY 8 FOOT NYLON TUBING TOOLS REQUIRED: 3/4” WRENCH **TUBING CUTTERS ** NEEDED TO CUT METAL TEE INSTALLATION LINES INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR WV-1 STEP 1: DISCONNECT POWER/DISABLE ENGINE IF YOUR COMPRESSOR IS ELECTRICALLY DRIVEN, (1) REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE WALL. IF IT IS GAS DRIVEN, (2) TURN THE ENGINE SWITCH TO OFF. 2 1 OFF STEP 2: BLEEDING THE SYSTEM AIR BLEED ANY EXISTING AIR FROM THE TANK BY FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE OWNERS MANUAL. STEP 3: PREPARE THE RECEIVER 1 (1) REMOVE THE EXISTING DRAIN PETCOCK OR DRAIN VALVE COMPLETELY. (2) ALSO, CLEAN THE THREADS OF THE TANK OPENING TO REMOVE ANY RESIDUE THAT MAY HAVE BUILT UP. STEP 4: INSTALLING PETCOCK/TEE ASSEMBLY INSTALL THE PETCOCK TEE ASSEMBLY BY SCREWING IT INTO THE PREPARED TANK OPENING. 2 STEP 5: INSTALLING THE DRAIN VALVE SCREW THE MALE END OF THE DRAIN VALVE INTO THE FEMALE INLET OF THE PETCOCK/TEE ASSEMBLY. THE PORT ON THE SIDE OF THE DRAIN VALVE IS PROVIDED TO ATTACH OPTIONAL TUBING OR PIPING. WHEN SCREWING IN THE DRAIN VALVE, TRY TO POSITION THIS OPENING AS SHOWN FOR EASIER ACCESSABILITY. STEP 6: INSTALLING TEE IN CONTROL LINE THE TEE MUST NOW BE INSTALLED IN THE CORRECT UNLOADER LINE OF THE COMPRESSOR. THERE ARE THREE DIFFERENT CONFIGURATIONS DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF COMPRESSOR. REFER TO ALL CONFIGURATIONS LISTED (AC), AND FOLLOW THE RELEVANT INSTRUCTIONS. A: AN ELECTRIC MOTOR COMPRESSOR WITH A PRESSURE SWITCH ELECTRIC COMPRESSOR TYPICAL PRESSURE SWITCH CHECK VALVE PRESSURE SWITCH UNLOADER LINE WHERE THE TEE WILL BE INSTALLED STEP 6A: LOCATE THE PRESSURE SWITCH ON THE COMPRESSOR. THE LINE FROM THE PRESSURE SWITCH TO THE FITTING ON THE TANK IS THE PRESSURE SWITCH UNLOADER LINE. A 1/2” SECTION OF TUBING MUST BE CUT FROM THE CENTER. DEPENDING ON THE MATERIAL TYPE, SPECIAL COPPER OR OTHER METAL TUBING CUTTERS MAY BE REQUIRED. PRESSURE SWITCH AFTER REMOVING THE SECTION OF THE LINE, PUSH THE ENDS INTO EITHER END OF THE TEE AND PULL BOTH SIDES TO MAKE SURE IT IS SECURE. IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE BELOW. PRESSURE SWITCH UNLOADER LINE 1/2” B: A GAS ENGINE COMPRESSOR WITH A CONRADER BULLWHIP THROTTLE CONTROL GAS ENGINE COMPRESSOR BULLWHIP THROTTLE CONTROL LINE TO THE ENGINE SITE OF THE TEE INSTALLATION PILOT DEVICE STEP 6B: LOCATE THE CONRADER BULLWHIP THROTTLE CONTROL. REMOVE THE BULLWHIP FROM THE SIDE OF THE PILOT DEVICE. INSTALL THE SPECIAL THROTTLE TEE IN THE PILOT PORT WHERE THE BULLWHIP WAS LOCATED. SCREW THE BULLWHIP INTO THE OTHER END OF THE TEE. PILOT VALVE BULLWHIP THROTTLE CONTROL THE END RESULT WILL LOOK LIKE BELOW. B: A GAS ENGINE OR ELECTRIC MOTOR COMPRESSOR WITH A PILOT VALVE INTAKE UNLOADER GAS ENGINE COMPRESSOR PILOT DEVICE LINE TO INTAKE UNLOADER LINE TO INTAKE UNLOADER WHERE THE TEE IS INSTALLED STEP 6B: LOCATE THE PILOT VALVE ON THE COMPRESSOR. THE LINE RUNNING FROM THE PILOT VALVE TO THE COMPRESSOR’S PUMP IS THE UNLOADER LINE. A 1/2” SECTION OF THIS TUBING MUST BE CUT FROM THE CENTER OF THE LINE. SPECIAL TUBING CUTTERS MAY BE REQUIRED DEPENDING ON THE MATERIAL OF THE UNLOADER LINE. PILOT UNLOADER LINE PUMP UNLOADER AFTER REMOVING THE SECTION OF THE LINE, PUSH THE ENDS INTO EITHER SIDE OF THE TEE AND PULL BOTH ENDS TO MAKE SURE IT IS SECURE. THE END RESULT WILL LOOK LIKE BELOW. 1/2” C: A GAS ENGINE COMPRESSOR WITH AN AIR LINE THROTTLE CONTROL GAS ENGINE COMPRESSOR THROTTLE AIR LINE WHERE THE TEE WILL BE INSTALLED STEP 6C: LOCATE THE AIR LINE ATTACHED TO THE PORT OF THE PILOT DEVICE RUNNING TO THE THROTTLE CONTROL MOUNTED ON THE ENGINE. A 1/2” INCH SECTION MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE CENTER OF THIS LINE. THROTTLE AIR LINE MOUNTED TO TANK PILOT DEVICE AFTER REMOVING THE SECTION OF THE LINE, PUSH THE ENDS INTO EITHER SIDE OF THE TEE AND TUG TO MAKE SURE IT IS SECURE. THE END RESULT WILL LOOK LIKE BELOW. STEP 7: DETERMINE THE LENGTH NEEDED TO CONNECT THE PORT IN THE INSTALLED TEE TO THE DRAIN VALVE. CUT OFF THE EXCESS AND INSTALL THE LINE BY PUSHING THE ENDS INTO BOTH PORTS. PULL TO ASSURE A SNUG FIT. IT WILL LOOK LIKE BELOW. THE APPROPRIATE LINE THE TEE IS INSTALLED IN FROM STEP 6. 1/4” TUBING WHICH RUNS FROM THE TEE TO THE DRAIN VALVE. YOU ARE NOW DONE!
