TCAS II ENDEVCO (Computer-Controlled Test Cell Amplifier System) MODEL 68220 Model 68220 • Programmable High Pass, Low-Pass, Band-Pass Filters • Wide Range of Programmable Transducer Sensitivities and Full Scale Units • Level Detection and Alarms • Self-Test and Self-Calibration by Computer Control • Inputs for a Variety of Transducer Types Not actual size DESCRIPTION The ENDEVCO® Model 68220-XX Computer-Controlled Test Cell Amplifier System (TCAS II™) contains one to twelve Model 6647 Vibration Signal Conditioner Circuit Boards installed in a Model 4970 19-inch rack. All the channels are remotely controlled by the IEEE 488 bus via the Model 26752-9 microprocessor based digital controller board, which contains an internal oscillator with complete self-test and internal calibration features. Each model 6647 analog channel can be set independently to accept single-ended piezoelectric (SEPE), differential PE, differential velocity, single-ended remote charge convertor (RCC), or ISOTRON® transducer inputs. Each 6647 channel provides several outputs. The broadband output is an analog representation of the input and is conditioned to provide a constant output sensitivity regardless of the operational mode and full scale range. The AC and DC outputs provide programmable 1-10 V scaled outputs selected for acceleration, velocity, or displacement with low pass, high pass, band pass, external, or filter bypass. The 6647 compares the signal level with programmed set points for tripping two independent TTL voltage alarm outputs. A window detector ouput is provided to toggle a TTL voltage when the threshold is exceeded for detecting transient events. The DC output is also multiplexed to an 8-bit A to D convertor to provide a proportional rms data via the GPIB interface. In this operational state the vibration amplifier exercises selected analog channels and associated digital controller hardware. Also, input cable and transducer integrity is checked by inserting a voltage in the transducer return line. In this mode of operation the vibration amplifier introduces a 100 Hz signal at the input stages of selected channels and adjusts its gain stages according to programmed settings to obtain an accuracy specified in Section 2.3.1. In this state of operation, the vibration amplifier accepts the parameters described in Section 1.0 for selected channels. In this state of operation, the system transmits two types of information for selected analog channels.
